Watts are Watts and electric engine management is pretty mature as far as design and programming goes, it’s perhaps unfair to compare a Bosch Gen4 which is purported to output 850W’s with a Bafang M510 which peaks out at around 750W’s. If you wish to compare my M600 ( which fits in the same...
Why not just buy a 48V battery designed for the frame of your choice. From experience of making a wiring loom, mounts, connectors etc, what you save in cash is way more costly in time not riding your new stead.
Manitou 160mm Pro fork, its an oldy I had, been pretty good, still does a very good job but the latest forks are up another league in their small bump handling. Planning to change it as and when I can afford to my favourite Marzocchi Z1 or possibly a Z2.
Ahh as to weight, it was a sunny day...
Anybody know how to clear the Err codes on a DPC245 display ? I have several displays which seem to be being recycled between two bikes and two different engines, it would be good to clear the codes on occassion.
Had another 50K ride on Sunday, hard to really get anywhere near a knowledgible basis of what the frame is actually about due to the trail conditions. We are in prime mud, slop and slippery roots time of year, this year seem particularly " slippery ". The frame seems really stiff and I think the...
I think you are going to have to rig up some sort of power supply to eliminate the battery. 4 x PP3 ( if you are on 36 volts ) batteries in series perhaps may have enough oomp as the calibration mode is in a relatively unloaded state ?
Yes, electronics can display volts to a voltmeter but not...
Can you now calibrate the motor using BESST ?
It may be worthwhile using a bench power supply to power the motor ( out of the frame ), the connector is just a simple XT60 connector which is widely available. Last time I changed a controller I simply connected motor / display / wiring on a bench...
The battery is removeable but not easy like say the Trek where simply with a key you can remove and fit another battery in minutes. You don't need to remove the motor but you do need to remove 4 bolts from the lower cover, remove the cover, remove 2 further bolts to slide the battery down out of...
You will have to excuse the mudguards, we are now into UK autumn / winter mud and slime trails. Last night was the first long ride as such. I need to sort out the suspension a bit, not much actually as the bike climbs really well in muddy conditions and doesn't seem to mind the downhill ( I need...
Nice little frame guys, finally got mine built up after what seemed a forever job, not sure why its taken me so long. Highly recommended to simply buy the appropriate wiring kit / battery that actually fits, it will speed up your build quite a bit. There's a few bits such as the speed sensor and...
My E69 which I'm just building up has the same problem of too short top tube with the seat tube so vertical. Sat on it last night to check and yes its cramped compared to my E10 ( both Mediums ), but right size in the leg department. Ordered a longer stem which should bring it back to same as my...
Have to admit the E10 is a pretty comfortable all rounder so much so I have no thoughts to change it at the moment. I wonder if its the cramped cockpit on steep climbs thats making the pro riders stand more ?
Modern Ebikes seem to go for the slack tube angle as we tend to climb much steeper terrain with the available power. With slack angles such as on the E10 you can get a touch too light on the front end but to be honest it is something that I have not noticed on my E10 despite climbing far far...
Surely if there is no power to the motor, the BESST tool must be powering up your display via the USB port in your computer. That must then mean its a battery / battery connector fault ? Just because you can see a voltage level on your multimeter does not mean you have power. Electronics can...
I have a home built battery and the BESST tool still talks to the controller.
Have you tried calibrating the motor using BESST ? Mine would work for a while after recalibrating ( not sure why it should ) but eventually the resistance built up so much in the connector that no longer worked. If...
