A couple of years ago my Trek with a Bosch Performance drive unit failed 6 weeks after the warranty expired. But all credit to Bosch who replaced the unit free of charge and renewed the 2 year warranty as well.
I never take my phone with me but the Nyon displays my trip in real time so the GPS must be on-board! Only when I get home does it connect with the app and upload data which accurately shows my latest journey.

I've just spoken to my LBS (who are continuing to work as normal) only to find the guy who does the warranty repairs is on leave this week so make that 5 weeks! Fortunately, it isn't my only eBike so I'm still mobile.
