Been looking for direct comparisons between the Race Motor and Gen 5, but can't seem to find any details on why one one choose one over the other. Any links? Ace

3/8" of travel doesn't make it a different bike...

New Shuttle L/T will be powered by Bosch Gen 5. Will have Mullet and coil options.

I'm going to wait until Pivot releases the Shuttle LT with the gen 5... ...then it will be between the Santa Cruz and Pivot.

Sorry to hear some of you are having issues. I'm on my 2nd S/L, and have had zero issues with either one of them. You wonder what the common denominator is with the motors. I wouldn't shy away from the Fazuza, in fact, I feel it's the best 50-60 nm motor out there!

IMO, it is best to buy from a LOCAL BIKE SHOP that is near to you, then to shop price only! Too many bad stories about service after the sale from the BIG guys... find a dealer that you trust, and buy from him. The few hundred that you save from buying from the cheapest guy will haunt you...

I think that the Pivot and Trek caught Spesh by surprise, and they scraped the release of the "updated" SL, because the drive system wasn't as refined as the Fazua or TQ systems. I don't see them releasing anything until their drive system is 50+ NM, and in the sub 35lb range. Ace

I've ridden it... it's a solid bike. The ep8 rattle is less noticeable. Thinking of getting one in place of my Levo. Ace

You could always Mullet the L/T and shorten it up a bit.

...same thought here! LOVE the mullet on my Gen 3. I'm wondering if just a wheel change will do it, or if you have to shorten the cranks... Ace
