What are you comparing apples with?
Are the tires similar?
Is the suspension similar?
This one has a belt so maybe 3 areas where your energy is going???
Being with 0 engineer knowledge i see other balls.
Lets say too many complain and Norco or some other want to divorce from Shimano.
They just cant. Their frames are made to mesure.
So this is a level of victim.
Let say a customer does not like the price of a Shimano motor.
Screwed again.
Let say...
The bike washing is something i never do.
Last 20 years without a car i just pedal daily. In Quebec with minus 20 and worst, riders who wash have more problems. Just wiping the excess. Obviously i do chain maintenance. The way i see it they just have to sell replacement motors twice the price...
a Shimano 8000 motor?
a Brose motor?
a 500Wh battery(external)?
a 500Wh battery(frame model)?
so basically what if i buy a used bike should i plan for.
Happy trails.
Just me but i think they should have paid you 100$ for towing their defect out of the woods and 300$ for renting a replacement. So it is showing a product not ready for wich they are over charging. They made me a good fat but their Ebikes i will not buy.
I am not an early adopter.
We were 5 friends 45 years ago on small 2 wheels never focussed on waranty, with reasonable reliable bikes with reasonable resale value. 1 had a solex, mine was a mobylette, 1 was suzuki and 2 were honda. Excuses are excuses. We were riding in minus 30-35. I know the...
Many use more than 2 sensors. If it was logic, a 250 motor would last a minimum of 2 hours from 500Wh but they have the right to be more powerfull. It is just a rating that is accepted legally more like **on average **. My display shows the energy used in real time and it does fluctuate a lot...
Obviously tires, surface etc... counts. From my readings Shimano and Specialized are focussed on selling light motors. Yamaha and RM and building motors for range and reliability but never say that it is a secret.
In my area there is no market, very few to sell so if i was lucky to find a motivated buyer that fits i would say 50% of regular retail price. But less is likely. The lower # of the engine brings the value down, so does the fixed battery, so does the many issues of Shimano. Basically accept any...
Other than hills and weight many factors count. Energy suckers might be suspension, tires, surface, bad habits, etc... The important is the real, not the estimate. I can stretch my 500Wh to 7 hrs or empty it in 3.
@ 61 i allways have tubes. I bought a used bike that was tubeless and there were leaks and burps so old guy, old way. My 27.5 + are nice with 13 PSI, confortable HT, grip, trouble free last 4 months. I am 130 pounds so you might need more PSI.
For 17,000 $ here we can get a decent reliable car. About 4,200$ is where we can say the same for an Ebike for mountain use. Many Ebikes are used for commuting so take 220 days x 30 = 6,600 Kms/year not 800 or 500 miles. Even sitting 4 months(winter) mine will be doing that.
I am in Montreal, Quebec, so i was having fun on my **standard** Specialized fatbike till april 15 then letting trails dry so mainly 4 months. The first 4 months was occasional use. Without a car i pedal daily that is why i value reliable. Often i pedal 11kms to the trails, play there than pedal...
I have nothing to say. I am no engeneer, this is the first i read about this.
What are the results?
How will i know if my engine experience that thing?
All i know is my 2017 is running fine as far as i know with about 3,880kms and i read many encouraging things for reliability. Like yesterday i...
