I have an S5 KSL with a 65mm stroke Fox DHX2 running full 29er. #294life  No clearance issues at all and gives about 7mm more rear wheel travel. The shock came supplied as 62.5mm stroke so I removed the 2.5mm stroke reducer that’s attached to the end of the damper body and put it back on...
I feel your pain. I have been there and have the scar to prove it. It took 6 weeks for it to heal up properly although I had some nerve damage too which meant I was off the bike for even longer. I have a plate and 7 screws in my right collarbone now. It wasn’t a pleasant experience as the others...
I have got one and it’s nice little bit of kit. It’s more expensive than an Allen key but it’s nice to use. Used it on Kenevo SL’s and Levo’s and it’s great.
You also don’t get Microtune on the standard TCU where you can cycle support/peak power up (they set in Microtune to the same percentage) up and and down in 10% increments. For me this is the most useful feature rather than using Eco/Trail/Turbo.
To check it fitted on mine I took the spring off, put the shock back in and moved it through its travel. I also used my weight to compress the bump stop to check for clearance on full bottom out. There was plenty of room.
The only option at the moment for shorter cranks is Praxis. The Mahle motor uses a custom M30 spline interface and there are no aftermarket options other than to buy shorter Praxis crank arms. 5dev said that they are looking at making them for SL’s but as yet they haven’t released anything.
Although waiting for the new Levo SL is altogether a different matter. It’s due anytime soon and is going to be a game changer if the rumour mill is to be believed!
No new KSL for at least a year. Next years are colour and spec changes only plus the fat price increase. If you can get one now for the old price buy it!
Specialized prices up by about 10% across the board. For example Levo Expert is now £10K.
That’s inflation for you but surely with the bikes now costing this much and everything else going up by the same or more it’s going to seriously reduce demand.
I’m happy with my KSL (they are now £9500)...
