Just been ‘scooting the web’ , def known issue With devices.. Funny enough a know issue with Apple Airtags…. Not working when battery replaced with coating.. so maybe do some further investigation.. depends what/ were you read - coating is/ isn’t removable…

I have also seen issues with Batteries having the ‘ baby coating ‘ on, so the taste bitter if put in mouth. Don’t know what the chemical re-@ction is, but it can and has caused problems with other electronic devices.
