Hi All,
I am after the voice's of experience in trying to identify a fault on a Shimano SW E8000 L handlebar power mode selector?
The bike is a Focus Jam 2 and it also has DI2 electronic gears which work fine using the RH handlebar switch. The LH power mode selector switch appears to be dead...
I had similar issues but on an iPhone with IOS. Turned out all I needed to do was to clear the Bluetooth pairing history and then the next time I tried to pair it all worked first time....
Okay managed to rest all bluetooth connections on phone and android tablet and when trying to connect it asked for pairing PIN so I can now connect with all apps and see the bike information. My next issue is that the android tablet will not allow me to request a license as the Google Play...
Connected with E-Tube app no problem. Then changes the pass code PIN. Retried with STEPSUnlocker but it won't now connect having entered and updated the PIN on the APP? Now I can't connect to the bike with either E-Tube or StepsUnlocker apps?
Downloaded App but fails to connect to bike E8000 as fails at 6% progress and indicates authentication error. I have not set a new bike PIN so default should work? Tried manually entering the standard code 000000 and tried again but still no joy?
Any advice welcome please as to what I could try?
Bike shop diagnosed a water damaged cable between battery and motor. Specialized as a goodwill gesture replaced cable. One ride completed and all working perfectly.
I understand the Android app version allows a low cost ability to get a licence key to change speed and wheel circumference. Will this ability come out in the IOS app version?
The Shimano App doesn't allow as stated in my earlier response. A Shimano main agent has the ability to change such parameters as they have the specialist equipment and codes.
This is sadly a common problem with Shimano systems and there is currently no user adjustment for wheel circumference. My Jam2 reads over my Garmin by as you say 2mph so my assist cuts out prematurely. Really annoying hopefully Shimano will update their software phone app to allow adjustment to...
Thanks I'll get it back to the dealer for a check up. When it works the motor is smooth and strong so it does feel like an electrical signal fault especially as its so random when it does it.
Quick update..all has been well for the last 3 rides but today the motor cut out again.
As it’s still under warranty is it possible to take it to a local to me specialised concept store to get it looked at or is it a case of taking it back to place of purchase which is a bit of a trek?
Thanks in a perfect world it would be good to be able to charge both at the same time. Each charger puts out 4 amps during charging and I have read that if you multiply the amps drawn by the voltage then it gives you the power output needed. So in practice this would equate to
4A x 230v =...
