Hurty knee (don’t pull a wheelie in a cross wind) but nothing by comparison to those photos, hope everyone is well. Take care. If you ain’t fallin’ off, you ain’t trying’ hard enough!??

My First Bike back in 1970 ish

Really, you are a sprog.?? That was the Sturmey Archer hub gear change, for some reason they used to jump in 2nd gear and one would end up impaled on the handle.

My First Bike back in 1970 ish

They weren’t actually bad bikes as I remember, mate of mine had one.

Parts for Shimano E8000 motor - lead from battery to motor.

Hi, regarding the suggestion of replacing both sides this place does all manner of car, motorcycle & marine connectors. I used them to rewire a motorcycle headlight (I’m not linked to them in anyway just a customer)...

    Bikeshop is cleaned out!

Nice to see they’ve sold out instead of being burgled.

    Jam2 frame cracked

I bought my Focus from Rutland and the 2 minor issues I’ve had they’ve been brilliant, hopefully I haven’t cursed your swing arm replacement. You could always ride the RS instead??‍♂️?

    Charging times; a table

Am I missing something here, are you all trying to charge your batteries to 80% and not 100%? At the risk of sounding an idiot, the way I understand it with Li-On batteries is, it is advisable to have 80% charge in a battery if it is going to be stored or unused for a period of time and not...

Solo riding an emtb - nervous?

But that’s exactly why it'd be sensible to not ride off road at the moment because the NHS have other more pressing issues to deal with.

    That'll teach me...

No consolation my tubless change was fine no leaks around the rim tape, sure there’s not a Thron (pun intended) in the tyres?

    Headset

That’s really helpful, thank you very much. I did start looking into understanding the part numbers and what was required, you’ve saved me a lot of time.??

    Headset

Mine have gone notchy too after only 100 miles of riding, seems the bearings are made of chocolate.

    First service

Bought mine from Rutland and am in the same position, drive 3 hours each way or pay my LBS or leave it, everything works fine.

    First service

First service is free if you take it back to Rutland otherwise you’ll have to pay fo it.

    Battery Reach

The South Downs Way won’t be possible on bike battery on day 1 and TEC pack on day 2 then by the above reckoning? It’s 100 miles split 50/50.

£3.5-4K budget Spesh or Giant, or something else?

Rutland Cycles have big discounts on the current Focus Jam2 FS, worth a look.

Standover height of small Jam2 6.8 Plus?

Hi Charlie, I have the same bike and I can confirm that the lowest point of the top tube (next to saddle) is 28.5’ (715mm) but the realistic stand over height is 32’ (810mm). I am 5’7” (1.7m) with a 28’ (710mm) inside leg and my undercarriage is firmly on top of the top tube. It’s not a show...

    Focus Jam2 6.8 Plus + TEC Pack

I have been a bit sympathetic to my chains on my road bike (is road bike a swear word on this forum?) by keeping the chain as a inline as possible, consequently the 4th-7th on my 11 speed rear cassette are worn considerably more than the others, I too need a new cassette at next chain change. If...
