when i started emtb I had a few offs in the corners as I was powering into them harder than i should have, that is, with the motor power I was going in faster than i was used to on my acoustic. Took a few rides to get the balance of power / turning / weight distribution / balance to come...
my orbea rise is at LBS now getting a new derailleur (could have just opted for new jockey wheels but hey), cassette and chain. Cassette lasted a good 2000km. I think i destroyed them by doing a lot of wet muddy riding but hey..isnt that hat emtbs are for.
I think you really need to test the Rise or any other that you might consider an option. Each bike feels different and will suit different people. I rode an 2022 SL and it just didn't have enough power. The Gen 2 is more powerful and im yet to ride one.
i changed the saddle before it even left the bike shop... a couple rides in i realized those brakes needed upgrading to 4 piston. How they spec a trail-bike with those original brakes is almost a dereliction of duty!!
The bomber fork is doing its job. 2 years in ive not had much to complain...
Steve,
I had the exact same jam2 ...carbon/27.5/21kg. I sort of regret selling it and swapping for the Rise. Yes i get 540 battery but in all honesty i never ride that far. Im lucky to do an all day epic at 45Km a few times a year.,to which the Jam ran out with a couple of km to go but the...
Im still at a bit of a lose as to what it does and how. Is the link thicker / different materials / diff geometry etc?? Read the cascade blurb but not yet fully enlightened.
I changed the rekon the a scoprion with a DH casing and even that seems to provide a tad more stability so maybe this...
Lots of great responses here. My 10 cents worth
1. im sure very bike will have some 'flaw' once it gets many hours / mileage on the trails. My Focus Jam 2 squealed like a little piggy form the rear suspension. It took 6 months back and forth with LBS / Focus for a fix.
2. there is talk that the...
here is Aust premiums have just doubled over the last 3-4 years. We have had floods / fires etc and the insurance companies are now seeking 'payback'. My bike is insured under the house policy, so i suggest im covered if stolen from garage, but I've never asked the question as to what happens if...
at 59 the emtb means I ride about twice as much as i would on the acoustic...... Im also def fitter than when i was 3 years however it is a combination of riding the emtb and other lifetsyle changes.
yeah...Aust is akin to UK re rising costs / inflation and the cash rate (mortgages) ...so yes people doing it tough and perhaps less demand. Still lots out riding which is a positive.
Wondering if the rest of the world is having a marked increase in bike depreciation. Here is Aus i have noticed a rapid deprecation versus bike holding their value as was the case a year ago.
Last year I sold a Focus Jam2 for 70% purchase price after 2 years of ownership and could have easily...
Mate my LBS had to do the same to swap out my brakes to 4 pots. labor costs was high but def worth the money. Shame the H30 comes with such lame brakes as standard.
