    Over-torqued Motor Mount Bolts?

You know what I actually reexamined the mounting area and it seems like they did put in metal inserts / threads for these mounting points. I know carbon doesn't take crushing forces all that kindly but I'd imagine this adds significant strength to the area. I'm leaning on the bike being A-OK

    Over-torqued Motor Mount Bolts?

Manufacturer has confirmed it is indeed 20nm, so that's good as it seems like I was close enough.

    Over-torqued Motor Mount Bolts?

Hah, when I ordered my bike I actually had no idea it was carbon, I've been out of MTB for so long I wasn't aware most top end bikes today are indeed carbon. If I had it my way I'd pick aluminum, but ah well 🤷‍♂️ As far as I can see there isn't a metal sleeve, but instead there are carbon...

    Over-torqued Motor Mount Bolts?

Thanks, although I'm not much for gambling it seems like the manufacturer themselves state that the correct torque setting is actually 20nm +3nm or so, so perhaps I haven't screwed myself like I previously thought

    Over-torqued Motor Mount Bolts?

Hey guys, I have a carbon frame e-bike that's recently developed a creaking noise by the bottom bracket that comes with every pedal stroke. I regreased and reinstalled the pedals, cranks and even the seat, nothing seemed to work. Extremely annoying. My next step was the motor mount bolts, I...

Leatt Body Armor - Tall and Skinny Sizing?

Thanks, most of my height is in my legs too so I've ordered a size large. Hopefully that'll do that trick

Leatt Body Armor - Tall and Skinny Sizing?

Yes I see they hide the actual measurements in a documentation PDF at the bottom of the page. Sometimes I wonder about Leatt. Btw do you like your Airfit Lite? I'm looking at the 3DF Airfit Lite EVO but I'm wondering if it's too swampy for MTB. I'm tempted to get that in a Large just to test.

Leatt Body Armor - Tall and Skinny Sizing?

I have long legs but my torso length is pretty "short", approximately 54cm long if I'm measuring my back in a straight line. I agree on the back protection but my biggest concern is ensuring the shoulder pads stay put, honestly.

Leatt Body Armor - Tall and Skinny Sizing?

Interesting, they had absolutely nothing like this on their website lol. According to these measurements I'm a L/XL, the Airflex series only comes in Large and XL so I suppose a Large would be proper?

Leatt Body Armor - Tall and Skinny Sizing?

Hello, I'm looking to snag some Leatt body armor for my emtb adventures and I'm trying to figure out their sizing, specifically their Airflex series. I'm 6'3" and 178lbs and their sizing recommendation is 2XL, which seems huge to me. Does anyone here have experience with Leatt body armors? Are...

Yamaha PW-ST grinding noise when decelerating

Honestly I'm under the impression that this is normal operation, I've come across two other people with Yammy motors and they all more or less sound the same. Some are louder than others, mine included, but I don't think it's anything to worry about as long as it's functioning as it should.

New bike, noisy motor. Service or ignore?

Yes same, mine almost sounds like it's sputtering when I ride between dips and climbs. I'd imagine it's engaging / disengaging as needed whereas on the road it's more constant. The outlet I bought the bike from is 900km away from my location, I guess I could ask our local GasGas authorized...

New bike, noisy motor. Service or ignore?

Yeah I had no idea GASGAS made bicycles of all things, but I scooped one for cheap from a motorcycle outlet. Not gonna lie probably the sketchiest purchase I've made in a while given I bought it sight unseen, but so far I'm pretty happy with it minus my own neurotic worrying about motor noise lmao

New bike, noisy motor. Service or ignore?

Thanks guys I'll do some ripping and keep an eye on it, I've got 2 years of warranty anyway so we should be good lol

New bike, noisy motor. Service or ignore?

It's hard to describe but it feels like I'm rotating gears and not a smooth crank, if that makes sense. There's a noticeable gearing noise coming from it at least. Again, not sure if that's to be expected with a Yammy.

New bike, noisy motor. Service or ignore?

Yes it's the over run specifically that's got me weirded out as I don't recall it being so grindy when I first got this bike, but thanks for the info.

New bike, noisy motor. Service or ignore?

Was yours similar to mine? From what I can tell it's not "bad" per se, but hard to tell without a comparison.

New bike, noisy motor. Service or ignore?

Hello, I recently got a new set of wheels and I've noticed that my motor noise has became rather "grindy" after a couple uphill rides, but only when I'm coming off the gas and largely in lower gears / eco mode. The motor is new, only about 100km on the odo. It's a Yamaha PW-ST. Does this sound...

Yamaha PW-ST grinding noise when decelerating

Hi guys, I'm fairly new to ebikes so I'm not entirely sure if this is "normal" but I've definitely noticed my motor noise has became rather "grindy" recently, but only when I'm coming off the gas and largely in lower gears / eco mode. The motor is new-ish, only 100km on the odo. It's a Yamaha...
