I'm going to Linkglide. Chain is not showing even 0.5 wear, but gears 6,7,8 have the chain skipping. Even tried a new chain and all adjustments (well, mostly chain length and b gap) are bang on. Cassette is the heavier Advent X version.
Looks like there is now a new version of the Advent X...
I just got the Sicomtb one. On my XL frame it does end a bit short like the Muckynuts in the first picture. I fitted it (did seem to fit pretty nicely, no apparent clearance issues) and went to a little jump park. Just catching the tiniest bit of air, there was a shralp noise at the rear. Not...
Just googled "advent x clutch play" and found this thread. Was riding my e-Mythique yesterday on some jumps and drops, and noticed a rattle on bad (but not very rough) landings from the chain that shouldn't have been there with a clutch. Found out that the cage can end up in a spot where it can...
Just ordered a Super Deluxe Coil Select R from RCZ. Figured that even with this bottom shelf OEM model I would like to try my first coil shock, as it was only 76€ including postage. Let's see if it arrives. Going to have to swap the spring as I'm over 90kg and the shock comes with a 350 lbs...
I have the mega play, but no solution. Took the screw/bolt out and put some threadlocker on the threads, since the screw has come out of some peoples' bikes (seems unrelated to the play).
Managed to lose my crank end bolt/plug. Any ideas where I should check when I want one in Helsinki ASAP? I can find them on Aliexpress / Greenbikekit, but those will take a long time to arrive.
Another reminder to check spoke tension. I did when I first got the bike and a couple of spokes were very loose on the rear wheel and I tightened them just by feel. Then after a couple of hard rides (gravity riding including a race, but less than 5 hours total on the bike), I noticed the rear...
My tip was more to keep an eye on it (or at least check it initially and after a couple of rides). Might save some riders from having to replace the wheels.
A quick tip, check your spoke tension. I did before my first ride and generally all good but a couple of spokes in the rear wheel were basically loose. Also, the 50€ promised to get the fork repaired locally is reimbursed after having it fixed. So will not be doing that and I will just pull it...
I got an offer from Bikester to send the fork to Germany for SRAM (sic!, maybe they didn't even look and think it's a RockShox fork) to fix or 50€ to get if fixed locally. If they are willing to just send me the 50€, I'll take the fork apart myself during the winter and see what's what. Have you...
I'm pretty sure the charger is as bog standard as they come, and as long as a charger supplies the correct voltage, I think anything works. I probably wouldn't push the crap connector much past 4 amps, though.
All of these are mega hot. I have the Leatt Airfit Lite and the Airflex Stealth. I run the Stealth most of the summer. A bit less protective but has definitely taken the edge off some sliding hits to the elbows and shoulders. My biggest reason to run these jacket type protectors instead of a...
I just fit the 1T3 cable (display, throttle, light) from GreenBikeKit to my e-Mythique. Was a bit of a squeeze because on the new one I got, the cables going to the handlebar are short enough that the big thing that connects everything has to be in the battery compartment (can not be pushed up...
Got the same e-mail, but my motor is already on my garage table. They could've just sent the instructions and let owners handle it and be responsible for it, if they don't want to take it to a shop. I'm pretty sure the "mechanic" at the LBS did not go to bike mechanic school any more than I did...
Maybe it's possible (the only real issue is getting to the bolt that is behind the chain guide, which you have to get loose and rotate) , but I got a Park Tool BBT-18 (fits perfectly) to remove the chainring.
Yes, those connectors are pushed up the seat tube (I pulled my motor and took a look). Looks like there's quite a kink in the cable to going to the connector in your picture.
Did anyone that got the VR model get a fork that at least superficially (clicks on the clickers) works? I know of at least four and maybe five owners with messed up forks.
