Thanks! The dirt tends to be loamy forest stuff (British Columbia) It can definitely mostly be brushed off when dry the next day, though I like to clean my bikes right after the ride if I can - I'll be careful and not spray it with a hose or anything like that ;)

To follow up on this: I took it to the LBS and they found some screws inside the battery assembly inside the frame that had backed themselves out. They hadn't come from the factory with locktite, and they added that to them and put everything back together, and the battery is dropping out...
I bought a 2022 Giant Liv Intrigue E+ back in March, and up until this week, the battery has dropped out just fine. Now, when I turn the torx key all the way and push the release latch, it'll start to drop out but then get stuck with the battery being stuck in there with about 1cm of space...
