What did you buy your ebike this week?

A lovely pair of yellow Ohlins factory race lowers for my DH38s, courtesy of the other half as my Xmas gift 😜. They’re being fitted by J-Tech when they have the forks to do a custom tune in the New Year and I’m weirdly excited to see how they look on my KSL and my (analog) FRS.

What did you do to your EBike this week?

Added a sticker to reflect my habit of massively over jumping everything to flat 😅

What did you buy your ebike this week?

The Loam Wolf had quite a positive review of them, but I’ve not always found his reviews to match up with my experiences so I’m taking it with a pinch of salt! He’s already got a pair of magpeds to try but I’m not convinced they’ll fix/help the heel down issue. A friend who’s been riding them...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Not for my e-bike but the other half’s - a set of those crazy Pendulum pedals (Outlier MTB — Pendulum Pedal) He’s struggling with ankle pain and keeping his heel down after breaking it so I’m hoping these will make some sort of difference. They won’t ship for a few months but we’ll see if they...

Important safety note from Canyon: the Spectral:ON CF / CFR and Torque:ON CF models may have damage to the battery

"You can ask a customer to prove an item was faulty when they bought it if they ask for a repair or replacement after 6 months." It's clear that the battery issue is a manufacturing fault, ergo it was faulty when you bought it, therefore you have a right to reject the bike and request a refund...

Important safety note from Canyon: the Spectral:ON CF / CFR and Torque:ON CF models may have damage to the battery

You could try quoting the UK legislation at them which gives a 6 month window: Accepting returns and giving refunds: the law. My other half has decided he wants to send his back and get something else so I’ll be writing some p1ssy emails to Canyon!

Kenevo SL Official 2022 Kenevo SL (KSL) Megathread!

    1. Yes you can connect the derailleur to the TCU so you can see (e.g) what gear you’re in or the battery level, but I’ve found that this drains the AXS battery very quickly. 2. I’ve never changed my chain length if changing the flip chip and it’s been fine 🤷🏼‍♀️. 3. Yes, but you need to make...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Dunno if it counts as "bought" but Fox have just confirmed they're sending me a brand new 2024 Float X2 Factory as a warranty replacement for this one 😅

Important safety note from Canyon: the Spectral:ON CF / CFR and Torque:ON CF models may have damage to the battery

This "partial refund" appears to be a payment to cover the time the bike has been unusable -- the numbers roughly line up with the 1/72 calculation, but they've pro-rated it to the very day that the notice was sent out. Using @DeanBeanoTaylor as an example, purchase price of the bike £6999 / 72...

Important safety note from Canyon: the Spectral:ON CF / CFR and Torque:ON CF models may have damage to the battery

I managed to battle past their cr4p website and I can top that! Torque:ON CF Roczen, purchased mid July 2024 for just north of £8k, they've offered a whole £373 😂. Absolute bunch of clowns.

Important safety note from Canyon: the Spectral:ON CF / CFR and Torque:ON CF models may have damage to the battery

The website is now showing a form that allows you to claim a "partial refund" but there are no details if they expect you to send the bike back, or if this is just a goodwill gesture to compensate owners for the months they've been unable to use the bike...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Unsurprisingly it went really well downhill with the DH38s, but they didn’t do it any favours when pedalling! I won’t be leaving them on there, if I’m going to ride something that pedals like cr4p I’d rather just ride my Commencal (which these forks came off). Unfortunately my Ohlins coil shock...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Well my favoured Öhlins RFX 38 forks are with J-Tech for a warranty claim (they’re only 10 months old and need a new CSU!), so I’ve bought a set of crowns to put the double crown Öhlins DH38s from the DH bike onto my KSL. It’ll be interesting to see how it rides with 200mm up front, over...

    LETS SEE YOUR RIDE FOOTAGE

As long as you’re sensible about it you can go left under the wood barrier on the berm after the top line of A470 (1:40 in your vid) and pedal up the side of Vanta, it brings you out by the first a470 berm out of the woods (@1:03 where all the people are). Easy to session that way!

You had a crazy lucky escape on the case @2:13 — that table is notorious for flipping people over the bars if you 50/50 it, I think 3 people broke femurs on it in a 2 week period this summer. I’m there with @Zed. literally every weekend on my eeb (and usually a Friday on the DH bike) if you...

    LETS SEE YOUR RIDE FOOTAGE

Technically it would be Loco but they’re not big tables, just awkward step downs! There’s also the top of Watts Occurring but again it’s very twisty with some awkward tables on/around corners. Insufficient Funds is probably the closest to what you want. I wouldn’t go near Zut if you’re not...

Hot melt wax - the journey begins

I’m very happy with the results I’m getting from chain waxing. SRAM XO chain, initially waxed with Silca Super Secret (prepped using a strip chip) for the first ~500km, then changed onto MSW. It’s done about 2800km and is now showing 0.75% wear so has been changed. I’m in the UK and ran this...

    LETS SEE YOUR RIDE FOOTAGE

It’s a bit more fun to do the top of Wibbly Wobbly to the trees, then hang a right and go down the narrow fire road/access track for 100ish meters which will bring you to the start of Sixtapod as it goes into the trees. And then up to Loco as @Hattori-Hanzo says! I’ll be about from mid-morning...

2025 Wild ST vs 2025 Rise SL

(For the metric among us, 43lbs = 19.5kg) They’ve probably done what they did with the Rise when it first came out and weighed it with the lightest possible tyres, no sealant, smallest size frame etc. It’s disingenuous but seems pretty standard.

    LETS SEE YOUR RIDE FOOTAGE

It's fun (when you get it right) and the gaps are low consequence and smaller than Insufficient so it's a reasonable stepping stone trail. They're supposedly extending it to run from the top as one of the 263932738 new trails being built so it'll be interesting to see how the existing section...
