It’s fairly easy, you’ll need some basic tools and a little fork oil. Ohlins of course recommends theirs but you can also use Fox Gold which is more common (ie more available)
Here’s the gist of it (you don’t have to remove it from the bike but helps if you have a bike stand.
Release air...
I think you’ll learn to love it pretty quick! Just make sure you get your spring rate right for the Cascade link to get the most out of it.
I have the same setup on mine (ohlins 38 up front and ohlins coil in the rear) and I absolutely love it! And let’s be honest, it looks epic too ☺️
Remove...
Yeah probably just missing the little plastic spacer/bushing that goes on top of the bearing. There is one on each side of the bearing and they fall out easily
FYI, I doubt cascade will be able to help. Nothing against them (they’re great) but their link isn’t the issue with any clunks you may have.
To save time best to just reach out directly to EXT, good luck!
Eh yes and no. I mean I haven’t tried swapping parts but part of the shifting under load benefit comes from the derailleur delaying the shift to the right shift point. With any other derailleur once you try to shift it’s going to shift no matter where it’s at.
But I get what you’re saying, it’s...
Haven’t tried but unless you’re wanting to attempt to try for aesthetic purposes, you’re not going to get any of the benefits of transmission.
Also, you’d be machining the hanger further outboard, meaning making it thinner/weaker so I wouldn’t recommend it.
The transmission derailleur is a...
For me personally, what concerns me is that I got mine straight from EXT.
I guess it wouldn’t hurt to send it back and have them double check everything though
Unfortunately no not really. I will say that functionally while riding it does appear to perform great, I guess that’s important to know.
But it continues to drive me nuts everytime I hear the clunk at full extension or slightly pick it up to move it. It just feels cheap, even if it does ride...
It’s not blocked off, just a different style.
It’s a Fidlock magnetic mount for water bottles. Much cleaner than a bottle cage. I’ve been using them for years
Yeah I’ll let you know, I should be getting it back out for a ride tomorrow or Thursday.
I rode a ton last week and exhausted 😂
I haven’t adjusted anything on my e-storia yet. Still using the initial 375lb spring as well, I do want to test the 400lb as well that came with it
Interesting! I didn’t get too much time with the fork stock before I installed the EXT and cascade long shock link.
I just removed both volume spacers so now I’m at 100psi and 0 spacers, we’ll see if I get the same results as you.
I’m in a similar boat as you though, I keep forgetting I have...
Are you calling me fat? 😂😂 yeah I’ll try that, thankfully it’s super easy.
I’ll have to check, I’m guessing yes. I know it did before I took the fork apart by maybe 2-3mm. But that was also at the lower psi (87)
Today was the first time riding after a few changes, some listed above. I was not happy with the harsh feeling Fox 38. As recommended by some of you, I upped my pressure from 87 to 100psi, this brought be down to about 21% sag.
Yesterday I also took the lowers apart, disassembled the air spring...
Thank you! Sounds epic! Out of all the bikes I’ve built a custom paint job is the one road I haven’t gone down yet. Sounds awesome, hope to see the final results!
Thanks so much, truly appreciate the words! Happy trails brotha 🤙🤙
180, nice!
How do you like the 35mm stem? I usually run 40mm, on this bike I tried a 32mm, seems just fine so far, only have one ride on it so far though.
Sorry been slammed today. But yes @Ou812 is correct, you would want the Dropset 5.
I actually swapped mine for the CK because I’m a fan of their stuff. It’s basically bomb proof and will outlast your bike. I had no issues with the stock set but to be fair I swapped it out after only 2 weeks so...
You can do what I did and install a Chris King 😂
You would lose the angle adjustment though if you care about that.
With that being said, the stock headset should be just fine as well. Def check what @ebikerider said first, especially since you could check, fix if needed, and retorque it...
