We are very fortunate to have paved rural, light traffic roads to ride our recumbent trikes. This is serious snow country, so most rural roads are paved, rather than gravel, for the sake of long term maintenance and snow removal. When I do ride to town (5 miles) or on busy roads...
I ride the trike in the winter out on our icy, snow covered rural roads and sometimes in the summer on logging and fire roads. A single track machine it is not, though. Trikes really are at their best on machine cut trails, not serious single track.
