Hey guys could use a little help from any bike mechanics.
I was riding the other day and noticed some noise coming from the head set. I also moved it around and it was a little loose. I could feel a little play. I took out the bearings and cleaned and re lubed everything. The steer tube bolt...
I think its a bug in the software / mobile version of this site. I still cant back out "your comment" even on the desktop. Obviously you didnt say it. I backed space and it put you in the quote and couldn't cut and paste out of it. Secondly the water bottle does not interfere at all.
I dont want to rule it out just yet though still need to do some bigger drops and jumps and may need to add another spacer. Not really sure at what percentage of fork compression I should consider adding another volume spacer.
I have a 2022 carbon rail 9.7 and with the help of this thread and a few others I sucesufully swapped over a fox dpx2 230x60 onto my 2022 9.7 carbon rail. I bought Roxshock BU bushing tool and swapped over hardware kit from my Select Deluxe + to the Fox. Everything went smoothly. I did NOT...
In reference to the DPX2 on my 2022 Carbon Rail 9.7 there is no issue with clearance with the seatstay when the shock is fully compressed. Mine has the older GEO I have the 625wh battery not the bigger one. I probably have a pic somewhere but I took all the air out and compressed the shock by...
Easy peasy took the entire mounting hardware from the original Deluxe + and transferred over to the Fox DXP2 230x60mm everything fits perfect. I did have to buy the rockshock BU bushing removal installation too for $17. Seat stay clearance is more than adequate. This is on a large 2022 9.7...
Do you ride in low or high mode? I swapped back up to high mode so should even be leas of an issue. Although its not installed yet waiting on the bearing tool to install the sleevs and spacers. I attached another pic. I dont think its going to be an issue on a large frame. Ive heard of issues...
Ok just looking for confirmation frome someone thats done this. On the rail you have some rear shocks with the trunion and others with the throughbolt design like mine. I have a 2022 9.7 its carbon. Before I go and do something that may jepordize something, can I get confirmation that I just...
Did you look up the serial number on the shock you got back? I would suspect its different. If you still have the originonal box compare the serials. I know the new rail frames on the high end have differ geo
Hey guys I printed these from thingyverse with some old TPU I had laying around. Which looks better? Neither is perfect but I would like to use one of them.
Thanks for posting. I see what you mean about that step now. I'm not sure how much that would bother me. But it does seem a little out of place. How do you like the Fox 38 on your rail? So it was a straight swap?
I prefer Fox over Rockshox. I'm not great at tuning but once it's dialed in I like the way the Fox performs. I had a Fox 36 Factory on my last bike and loved it. Although I've heard of Ohlins I've never really tried one. I know they have a good reputation.
Can someone take a pic of this step? I think I understand but not sure. Also does the step allow mud and crud to get in there? Is there an adapter that Fox or Trek sells? Would a different offset work better?
So If I was to buy a from a store just a Regular Zeb your saying it would also have a...
Hey got a question. I have a 2022 Trek Rail 9.7. I was thinking of upgrading to a Fox 38. Are there any gotchas to consider when doing an install? Can I simply swap everything over? Also what's the minimum steer tube height? Looks like the Rail steer tube height's is around 7 1/2".
I wound up around 26F /28R if I put 26 in the rear it felt like I was burping the tire and on turns it felt like I was really rolling the side walls. I might try and lower to 24 in the front and see how that feels.
Question: Do you typically put more in the Front or the Rear. I thought I read...
Hey guys i have a couple of questions. I only have about 60 miles on my Trek Rail 9.7. I noticed quite a bit of fluid comming off the rear shock. Is this normal?
Im thinking of replacing the rear shock. To me this seems to be the weak link. But I found a 2022 Rock Shox Super Deluxe Select+ 230...
But is Ohlins better? I saw a post recently where they showed the winningest racers and their gear they had a breakdown by components. One section had forks and shocks. For Downhill / Enduro type races Fox was the clear leader for Cross Country trail riding type races RockShox was the clear...
