One very credible source in support of Bosch is that I know one of the main guys at Ibis Cycles, and they did a lot of motor research and testing before they came out with their Oso fairly recently. They settled on the Bosch CX for both performance and reliability reasons.
I ride with a large group of frequent e-bikers, riding various bikes. Among our group, the Bosch CX has been most reliable by far. I put 3,500 miles of hard riding on my Trek Rail with Bosch, and motor was still as good as day 1. Then I got a Levo and had to replace my motor after 500 miles...
Agree that you should get a chain checker and check for yourself, as your shop is likely wrong. The most recent Park chain checker works fine and is very inexpensive. I've done a good amount of testing and lower end chains like GX last me around 500-600 miles, but my last XX1 chain was good for...
Agreed. OneUp EDC is great in that it has most everything you need in one kit, including chain tool, but it is way more fiddly than just having the SWAT multi bits tool instantly available. IMO Specialized made the right call in keeping the chain tool separate. I use the main tool easily 20x...
My 2022 Expert came with the SWAT tools. That is lame if they didn't include them with some models. But I would probably just buy the SWAT tool and chain breaker that should have come with yours. They are nicely integrated and easy to access, so you don't have to carry tools in a pack or...
Thanks. I have mostly adjusted to it after putting a lot of miles on it, but aside from boosting acceleration response (which only partially reduces the delay), the only other way I've found to adjust is to start pedaling a little earlier than natural in a sudden steep technical climb situation...
Thanks for the input. It is definitely not a gearing issue. The same small delay in assist (my issue #1 in original post) happens regardless of gear or assist mode. The only thing I've found that helps is the "acceleration response" setting, but even at 100% there is a small, annoying delay that...
I have also received and installed the new generation door kit to replace the old one which broke off after a relatively minor bump on a log hop-over. It is more burly and a better design, because the edge of the door is inset a bit, slightly more away from harm's way. It is still plastic...
I broke my motor (actually is just became extremely loud, but never actually stopped working) a couple months ago, after about one month of riding. It was replaced very quickly though, didn't even miss a single ride. Hoping the second one lasts a lot longer...
I've had my '22 Levo Expert for a few months, and mostly loving it (aside from already a blown motor, blown shock, broken charge door). I have two minor annoyances with motor power delivery that I'm hoping for help with.
1) There is a very slight delay between when I put power to the pedals...
It looks like at least a few of you have been using this new door kit for a month or more. Other than the one post above ("The door has a spring that ensures the open door is keept away from the crankarm. The hinge has a more solid design.") can anyone report how much of an improvement this is...
