For anyone that gets the Park tool and needs an easy way to torque the ring. This 36mm socket with a 3/8 drive works very well (intended for oil filter housings on German cars).

As in its too easy or hard to pedal on steep climbs? When you say over-geared, to me that means its too easy. So you would want to go up in size on the front.
I haven't seen a 30t for a steps/ep8. E*thirteen and Shimano start at 32t.
I said the solution is to remove the 2 washers. It takes no time and resolves the issue. This chainring is made for ep8 motors, not the Rise specifically so it’s not going to be a perfect fit for every model if the thickness of those cheap washers and chain guide vary. You are making a big deal...
Remove the two washers between the guide and the motor and it will fix this issue. I was just servicing a friends Rise and saw the marks on his sprocket. Removed those washers and the guide still clears in all gears. I serviced my Rise a few weeks ago and did not have any marks with the washers...
I just installed a 34t E*Thirteen chainring to hopefully utilize the lower gears. 34t is what Orbea lists as the maximum size in the Blue Paper and I can see why, it gets really close to the lower chainstay. BUT, a 2 tooth change is not that big of a difference.
