My Kenevo is in the bike shop now, had the bearings replaced and glue/loctited in with special bearing mount compound (loctite 641). It takes 24 hours to properly cure so i wont be getting to see till wednesday if the creak had finally gone. Fingers crossed
the bearings from the main pivot were a real mess. All 4 were just piles of rust that needed replacing long before i did 😢. I’ll see how
The loctite 641 goes when it comes. Other than the creak the bikes perfect. Every bearing except the headset bearing has been replaced, i suspect jet washing...
Had a bike mechanic look at the creak as its driving me nuts. He’s 99% certain its the bearings in the main pivot moving due to the old ones being in such a bad way they could of been spinning slightly in the frame causing damage to the bearing seats. He said if it is the case its only moving...
I hope it is just this. I’ve eliminated all the shock and shock linkage I think. Last night i seperated the seat stays from the suspension linkage so the rear end was only held on by the main pivot bolt near the motor and the creak comes from round that area when pulling/pushing the rear wheel...
Hey all. Just a quick one. I’m looking for the bolt which attaches rear shock to frame for a 2019 kenevo. Its 6mm hex one side (the bolt) and 8mm hex the other side (the nut). I cant find by googling.
pictures probably not much use but its the only bolt in the picture 😂
Not gave up on the beast yet. Just been quite busy. Finally got hold of a proper bearing puller/press kit, a specialized fsr one at that. It was missing the most important part though, the 15mm bearing puller. I struggled without anyways. I put the bearings in the freezer before hand to slightly...
That is just awful. What an experience! Stress isnt the word for what you’ve been through and still going 🤦♂️ Hope it all goes well and gets sorted properly
I know what you mean. The biking world is so fickle and some have severe FOMO (fear of missing out). They will constantly “upgrade” parts or just buy a complete new bike yearly. How I see it is if you buy the right bike is the first place then it should last longer than a few years, if it were...
About time they were fitted to all forks. My pikes get a fair bit of negative air so have to use the smooth end of a zip tie to “burp” them every now and then
I use the epic bleed kit for my MT5’s. I use the blue mineral oil even though i got more shimano red mineral oil. Shimano say you can not mix the 2 even though they are both “mineral” oil. Probably a lie but i dare not try anyway 😂. Pretty sure juice lubes do their own variant of mineral oil...
Still havent fitted the frame bearings as i’m lacking in kit. Trying to find/source a decent puller but they aint cheap 😂. Done all the bearings in the rear hope hub though, thats running nice now, somehow the previous owner had managed to mangle the green plastic seal that goes behind the...
Bearings for frame come. With this 12 all 16 will have been replaced. All 16 frame bearings are 6802. These 12 are the fancier max/full compliment. Going to pack em all with mobil 222 grease before fitting.
Did the full Cannock Chase with my son yesterday, hes only 10 and so proud of him, he hasnt got an ebike and its an extremely tough pedally trail for your average and below. He had some terrible off’s too but still finished with with a smile. Though he said its only a once a year thing (the full...
