Been busy with other stuff going on, so not so much riding as I would like.
But I have done another 5K odd klms now, and the forks are still preforming great.
I also upgraded the front and rear callipers to an SLX with a 4 piston in the front, the forks handle the extra stopping power without a...
Old thread but I thought I would post anyway, maybe start a different angle of discussion.
I'm old/er 60, I don't like too much assistance and prefer a more natural feel to my peddling.
I try and keep my heart rate between 130-150 so I add or reduce assistance accordingly.
I use eco a lot on the...
I'm with there was previous damage to the belt before it snapped.
Belts have been used in many diverse applications reliably not to be considered as a fail point.
I did 10K klms on a flat bar road bike as my transport to work, rain, hail and shine, never had an issue with the Gates belt or the...
When I first got the 680 error I couldn't find any real information on it either.
So I'm glad now that my experience has helped a couple of people out and possibly more in the future.
Beats buying a new battery as per what amoyguang was told.
I did mine August last year, haven't had a problem since.
Worst thing that could happen is you need to replace the batteries in the purion display.
I have had no problem on my Trek Powerfly with the battery moving or losing connection but if you did, some creative use of some 100 mph gaffer tape...
Like me, I think you might have damaged the switch on the battery.
As in my OP if you remove the battery cover, remove the switch which is just stuck on, it will remove the error and your bike will work fine.
Providing the the batteries in the Purion display are ok, you won't have a problem.
In another thread it was mentioned that there is bad bikes out there.
So apart from the obvious Chinese junk, supermarket bikes etc, name a reputable bike manufacturer's bike that is bad.
Then expand on why in your opinion it's bad.
In my own experience I have owned a number of new Giant...
I think you need to accept that unless it's budget Chinese rubbish, there is no bad bikes out there.
All the major players build good bikes and it comes down to preference of components/geometry/application and brand loyalty that sways people on their next purchase.
Of course you're welcome to...
I was disappointed with the early speed cut out after owning a Yamaha PWX, fixed it by chipping it.
I don't ride over 25kph all the time but when I hit a dip in the track at over 25 kph and it powers up the hill from the bottom instead of waiting to drop below the limit, it makes it a whole...
Long involved story but bare with me on this.
A week ago I'm on a ride and about 25 klms from home I get a puncture, no problem I carry 2 spare tubes.
As luck would have it, both tubes (brand new in box) won't inflate so I had no other choice but to start walking/pushing the bike home.
Yes I...
Just an update on this,
As I had no idea what was going on with the power issue I completed my brake install yesterday so the bike was back together.
Sent an enquiry off to Bosch, no reply yet.
I had put the bike on the charger 2 days ago but that made no difference, the same as replacing...
I have just upgraded my rear brake on a Trek Powerfly 4, bit of hassle to remove the battery mount to route the new brake line, but overall no big deal.
So I get it all back together but before I reinstall the rear wheel and take it off the stand I turn the display on, nothing.
Question is does...
I think you will find most if not all steerer tubes on aftermarket forks will be more than long enough.
Install forks, fit spacers and stem, cut to your preferred height, knock in a star nut, assemble, nip it all up and ride.
So a quick poll, who use's an alloy chainring/spider and who use's a steel chainring?
Is there a connection between alloy chainrings coming loose and steal not?
My Powerfly 4 came with a DM FSA steel chainring 36T with an O ring, I replaced it with a DM eThirteen steel chainring 38 T with no O...
I knew when I bought my Powerfly 4 that the forks were terrible so I looked into what was available beforehand and factored that in to cost of purchase.
I purchased these before I even picked the bike up.

1600 klms later I have no complaints...
I do understand the drag big tyre weight transition from assistance to no assistance and the extra effort required.
Under good conditions I have exceeded (peddled) well over 35 kph so I am well aware of the effort required once assistance stops.
(it is hard to maintain for any length of time)...
