I’ve had my 2022 Rail for a little over a year now but I can’t help but envy some of the new tech and bikes coming out on the market. I’m always one to want to try new bikes but this Rail has really been a great bike and other than perhaps my derailleur there’s not much I would change.

Just got done installing these. They’re no harder than any DH casing tire, it’s all about technique. You don’t need more than 1 helper.
Set the tire out in the sun for 30 minutes to start. Make sure you’re using metal reinforced tire levers for a tire like this - the plastic ones will break...
I’m not sure what fixed it, but I haven’t had this issue even once since I last visited this thread. I want to say I adjusted the battery position but I couldn’t tell you what exactly I did. I would try to clean the terminals, check your alignment per the Trek user manual and look for anything...
I don’t think he was asking for your tire review - the guy was asking for helpful techniques to install them as am I. It goes without saying that if you have a stiff walled MTB tire, it’s going to be much more difficult than not, especially if you have cushcore. Loads of EMTB riders love this...
Figure I would post this here since some of you are looking for a bolt-on rear shock for your Rail. I purchased this based on Rob’s setup on his Rail!
Selling my Ohlins TTX22M, 65 x 230mm shock with Cane Creek Valt spring that never made it onto my 2022 Rail and barely any use on my 2021 Rail...
Update here. Finally got a new motor guard from Trek and purchased this aluminum guard that probably will hopefully reduce the chance of me cracking the guard again. Will keep you guys posted on whether or not this thing works out.
I don't recall the exact moment this would have happened but I"m sure it was from a rock strike yes. I consider rock strikes part of normal riding - nothing extreme, mind you, but I should be able to strike a rock and not have my bottom motor guard crack like this. Others have experienced a...
I've fallen victim to the infamous cracked motor guard. Anyone else? Trying to find the part number. I ordered the bash plate that Protect EMTB sells so this doesn't happen again.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? 2022 Rail 9.8. Not sure this compromises the frame - seems like it may be either just the clear coat or the outer most layer of carbon.
Update:
The intermittent power cuts and power down has returned although not until 10+ miles on my ride. I think the battery gets warm and starts moving around. Going to try more things to keep it in place.
I don’t know why the photo makes it look that way but the cable is not tight at all. I did end up getting a big ride in after adjusting the bottom battery bracket and that was definitely the issue. I didn’t experience any power surging, power downs or any unexpected power events. I’m surprised...
