It’s called overrun and most modern motors have it. Some configurable, some not. It’s a GREAT feature for technical climbs and you get used to it pretty quickly. It’s very manageable and I never had the feeling of getting pushed to hard.
I did not know there was a EP6 RS. Anyway, technically, the rune is just settings and profile options. These can be set to the non-RS values pretty easily. If both motors are configured to identical, reduced settings then I guess it does not matter much.
What did you set your support, power, assist etc to? Maybe post a list. That’s what it’s complaining about, not destination or circumference. Also, has the new circumference and destination been written to the regulation log? AFAIK, STUnlocker does NOT write to that log and you should get...
I've been wondering the same thing. You MAY be able to fit 225x75 shock but I have not really measured anything. That would also raise the bike and potentially cause other issues. I'm not aware of any other suitable trunnion sizes.
The assist switch goes back to the display. Depends on your bike. Mine was about 500mm. The SW310 switch has two ports so you could go Motor-Switch-Display or you can run separate cables. Whatever works best and again depends. i ran separate cables and used 900mm to get to the switch
If you start from scratch then it’s not cheap! I already had a spare EP8 (old one had issues) and battery which I sold to minimize cost! I also already had the SC-EM800 display.
You'll need all this:
SHMIEWSW310A
EW-SW310 SATELLITE SWITCH
SHMISWEM800L
Shimano SW-EM800 SWITCH LEFT ASSIST...
Thanks. Having to drop the motor is a deal breaker for me. I need it on a roof rack and with battery that’s a provlem.
Yes, the EP801 is a lot punchier especially with the new 4.3.0 update. That bumps it up even more. I did a conversion on a 2021 E160 8000 from EP800 to EP801 and the difference...
Sorry, I explained that pretty badly and not quitre right: If your actual circumference is 2200 and you set it to 1375 (2200 / 1.6) then you’ll get support up to 25Mph (40km/h real speed) but the motor will think you’re doing 25km/h (40km/h / 1.6). If you set your display to km/h the it will...
There is no way to go faster AND have the correct speed displayed. Some guys set the circumference to 2190mm / 1.6 and change the display to show Mph. That way the displayed speed is correct but the unit is not
Does anyone know what’s contained in the regulation log for a EP801? I know EP800 had destination (region) and circumference. The EP801 apparently does no longer support region changes so does that log contain the region/destination?
Any should work. You just need to enable access in the settings. Normally the app (file explorer) will pop up a notification and ask you to change the settings. I use root explorer
The E7000 display uses SD50 connectors while the EM800 uses the newer SD300 which (I think!) the E5003 uses as well. You’ll also need a separate assist switch. You may be able to hook up a junction box instead to get Bluetooth.
Does anyone know whether a Fox Transfer 2021 150mm will fit an E160 8000 medium (2021 model). It looks close and I have all the numbers but would need to know before ordering.
TIA
EDIT: To answer my own question...NO it does not or at least it can't be fully inserted. ABSOLUTE max insertion...
Yes, the battery definitely can’t travel so I’m buying a new one at the destination. Even without the battery some airlines do not want to take the bike!
Can anyone recommend a decent travel bag for the E160? I'm looking to take in on a plane but also will need to transport before and after so wheels are a must....don't want 30kg hanging off my shoulder. ;-) The smaller the better. I've had a look at the Evoc Pro but at 10kg it's not very light...
