Well, now there's a ludicrous 104% US tariff on most Chinese goods. So, currently a whopping $245 x 2 + .04 = $509.6 USD! 🤡💩🤯 Edit update: So, technically 50.4 % of us DIDN'T vote for the current autocratic administration. Our system isn't ranked choice voting unfortunately, and has an...

@calvintys races DH and has several CEF50 builds using both high-end coil and air-shocks. 👊

Star Union MGM, Another light contender?

Here's one answer from my buddy whose electrical/computer engineer. He suggests that both KV and cadence input is the most efficient way to simulate a true step up in the traditional gear ratio change...so a natural feel is based on mechanical kinesthetic and not as easy as creating a 1x12...

Star Union MGM, Another light contender?

I recently sent an email to the Star-Union sales rep (I think?). Here's my email. 👇 I'll post any response he gives. Also, I did suggest to add a bigger battery option like a 700 Wh battery to complement the 480 Wh main battery and 160Wh extender, especially since the motor has been juiced up...

I'd say the sizing seems to be a 1/2 size small. IMHO. I'm 6'1" with 32" in seem (long torso). I use a large and kinda feel like I could of have gone up a size to XL. That being said, the CEF50 has a nice and low stand-over top tube height. Personally, this is the by far the best frame...

Damn! SZZS was putting out their 36 V extender battery(280? Wh) next month. Was $245 USD. X .34 = $83.3 more for $333.3 total 😜. Granted still cheaper than the big boys like Specialized and Trek etc...but still💸💸💸! Thanks very stable genius!💩

Star Union MGM, Another light contender?

Dumb question. Why could one not just program 9 -12 power modes of 5-10 Nm increments to simulate/double as a magnetic drivetrain? I'm sure there is a good reason why this is unlikely, but I'm not an engineer.😁 Also, the latest: Star Union says they're 80Nm currently but shooting for 90Nm by...

Anybody in the know have more information on the SZZS specific battery extenders. I'm wondering about cost, availability, and integration for both 36V and 48V systems. Also, what is Jean Wang's email address again....it's been a long time since I contacted them. 😁 Thx🍻

Oops! A big one that is forgotten is reserve battery cut off on all M820 CEF50 batteries is 20%. This is unusually high set by Bafang. (My Bafang M600 is also 20% but my other e-mtb is the Bafang M620 at 12% but it's a custom battery/BMS) where it kicks higher power modes down to eco power...

✅ Rider weight ✅ Terrain normally ridden (big mountains v. rolling hills v. flat and hard packed v. loose) ✅ Peak torque is higher at 75Nm on the M820, so of course the higher power modes use more juice quicker. Peeps kind of figure higher power modes will rarely be used in the begining, but...

None. I'm hoping Bafang will do a firmware update for the M820. Max is still 75 Nm. When Bafang first launched the lightweight motor a few years ago, they advertised as 75Nm max torque, but also had a mysterious short superboost mode...a few us here in jest just picked 85Nm as a theoretical...

SZZS CEF50 lightweight using Bafang M820 motor (Specifications Thread)

I use a 104BCD 32T aluminum aftermarket no prob. Raceface is a common choice. Don't need steel on a 1x12 drivetrain, very little wear and 2-3x heavier. Should be able to run a 30-36 T range on 104BCD depending on needs. The only thing about compatibly is the Bafang spider (like Mike's link...

Check YouTube for the float x spacer tutorial or go to the ridefox.com website. I believe Fox has plastic "horseshoe"discs that can be purchased. New shocks will typically have a spacer or two in the packaging box, but can be ordered on line specifically for the year/model. I have the Rock...

The linkage and rear triangle is the same for all sizes. It's the front triangle that changes: small shortest and extra large with the longest top tube/head tube or reach. So, the 55 stroke should work the same. If not, you can just shorten the travel by adding spacers.

👍A few of us have been able to fit a 210x55 rear shock successfully. I have a large frame. It should give approximately 165 mm of travel.

For my M600 e-mtb I have two smaller batteries both manufactured by Bafang. One is still working well! The other always showed full 48V but would intermittently provide power when using it. I took it to a local bike shop. The LBS mechanic, whose owner was an electrical engineer (he inspected it...
