Get a Sprindex spring so you'll have a 40 or 50lb adj range. I have been using those 2 for about 2 yrs. Not the lightest but worth it to dial in your shock.
Just sitting/bouncing around with the long kit, feels like a totally different bike. bottomless feel, much more capable and composed on rough, steep stuff. I rode the bike stock for maybe 40 miles, then switched to the long kit with a factory Float X2. I will not set the bike back to stock...
Ive asked Spesh myself and yeah it sucks. I want to drain the ext first when riding with it. Mine tapers at 10% until it switches to the frame batt. Dude said theres nothing thats being done about this and advised simul. draining mode to avoid the lag.
Coil shocks with skinny shafts eg. Fox, Ohlins were prone to snapping. Looking to try the new SDeluxe coil, new RS stuff look legit. I have the SDeluxe air in my analog bike.
^ Rode mine earlier on as mullet and rides really well. Its full 29er now, you get used to wagon wheels over time, at 177cm I still prefer a mullet setup. Still have the occasional tire buzz.
^Pretty sure its pawl. I have a 2022 KSL and Im quite certain they have the same 370 hubs. I had to get the complete conversion it to go to a 54t ratchet.
Lol. I've set mine up mullet too. IMO it rides better for nonracer bros like me,lol. I hate tire buzz on every ride. Waaay easier to ride steeps and tight turns.
Have ridden the Jade X for maybe a month. It's pretty good. Might do a custom tune when I go to socal in March. Rebound damping isn't quite enough off the shelf, but still very rideable. Having a Sprindex spring helps a lot with 50lbs to play with.
Same exact feeling, I got a used yellow S3, less than 100mi on the odo, kinda like the banana now. Swapped a couple parts, went coil Jade X and rides waaay better.
Initially wasn't too stoked on the bigbird yellow but it's slowly growing on me. Psyched on this. Changed some parts, need a 150 axs dropper, 170 just a tad long for a 30in inseam in an S3.
Question: Has anyone fitted a Kitsuma coil in an S3 or smaller frame? From the looks of the Kitsuma...
