I found this review which is quite good. I have the Shimano motor and only 378W battery on my Focus and can ride about 2 hrs of single track with lots of climbing on echo mode (occasionally jumping up to trail mode on steeper climbs) and never use more than half the battery. The Hal has a 500W...
No I don't have one but lots people here have bought them. One really experienced rider had already owned a Levo and switched to this bike. This has been over a year and they are still pleased with the Motobecanes. Another person I know switched from her Hai ebike to the Motobecane and loves it...
In our area there are probably over a dozen purchases of the Motobecane. Great components and motor at $3499 (2644 pounds). I have a Focus Jam2 but the Motobecane has better components and a bigger battery. Everyone really likes this bike. Mountain biking is huge here and people coming from all...
Very nice. Is that snow in the background? We have had more snow than ever this month. I use a Thule Classic platform hitch rack which makes for easier loading and unloading.they have bigger front tire trays you can switch to fit larger wheels.
Thanks for all the advice. I tried your "leaning on the seat" adjustment advice and it worked great. It's still doesn't pop up as fast as I like but adequate.
I rotated the connection that is not directly connected to the dropper switch but a few inches out on the cable and got the seat to go up and down fairly fast but it wouldn't stay down when the switch is released. When I screw it to a point where it will stay down then it is sluggish to rise...
I rode my Focus Jam2 Plus on single track last night for the first time and found that my saddle wouldn't come all the way up and was really sluggish. Anyone else having this problem or advice?
I've gotten a few snake eyes but overall everyone seems to like the idea. And, this is a huge mtb community. We've gotten over 100 people show up on trail work days. Our county just had a meeting to readdress the rule of allowing emtbs on our trails. A couple dozen older people (60+) showed up...
As most replies have mentioned demo the different bikes if you have the option. I rode a very nice Xduro Haibike for a week while my regular bike was in the shop, a Giant, and a friend's Motobecane Hal (definitely the best price for the components), and lastly a Focus Jam2. My favorite due to...
Same here. The regular Stan's sealant lasted all last spring and summer. It's winter here in Hood River, Oregon and we stay off the trails when they're muddy or in a freeze thaw so I haven't had it on single track yet.
Huh.. Is Stan's Race different from Stan's Sealant? I use the Stan's NoTubes injector with Stan's Sealant whenever more is needed and have not had an clogging problems.
If your wrists get sore on the steep downhills you could consider ESI sponge grips.. really comfortable, grippy but tricky to put on. I now have these on all my mt bikes.
I use the valve injector to add more Stans. While riding in Moab, Utah on my regular mtb I felt a spray on my ankle which indicated a leak from a cactus spine but the stans quickly plugged itself.
No. It's the Revelation 140. My Giant Anthem SX only has 120 so it's a big jump in suspension for me. Also, here in Hood River, our trail systems have mostly smooth packed dirt. Here in the states our bikes are discounted at the end of the fall season and then came the Black Friday sales event...
I've always rode with spd clips on my mountain bikes. I thought with the pedal assist the flats would be fun to try but I find that going over bumpy terrain my feet sometimes bounce off. I'm guessing it's a matter of experience on flats.
I've had my Jam2 Plus for a week and have changed the tires to tubeless, added winter mud flaps, quick release seat clamp, cut two cm off each end of the handlebars, and replaced the grips with ESI Chunky foam grips.. easier on the wrists on long downhill runs. Ready to rock and roll!
I called Jenson where I bought the Jam2 and asked where my charging port cover might be. He said they don't have covers on the port. I told him what I have read here and he looked at their bikes and talked to a manager and said that they don't have charging port covers on the bikes. ????
