Just watched a YouTube video from Rob, nice bike but for the prices, I’m glad I picked up a 23/24 Rise at the price I got it for.
Rob mentioned it’s the same ep801 motor tuned by Orbea and can now use 85nm, I wonder if the current 801 motors will get an update? A bit like Bosch did when they...
I’m doing London to Brighton in September, and I’m planning to do the 100 miles of the South Down Way and hopefully, the Coast to Coast (Way of the Roses) at some point in the Summer!
That’s an impressive range for that ride and some serious climbing! I have a full fat Trek with a 625w battery...
Sounds great! I would just like brakes that don’t squeal! Doesn’t seem to matter how much I avoid contaminating them, or clean them, they just squeal all the time. Maybe it’s the rotors as I’m on my 3rd set of pads! They weren’t all worn, I just got fed up with the noise!
Wow, that is for this!! Despite fixing the major creaks, I can still hear something so I will give these bolt a check over at the weekend! Would never have guessed they’d cause an audible creak!
Thanks for this, I’ll look at both. I’ve not yet serviced the headset area so I’ll do that soon. I’ll also look at the battery cover, I do hear some minor noise from that area but assumed it was the seat post and derailleur cables. I’ve been enjoying the bike a lot more since eliminating the...
Just wanted to add my experience with the creaking noises which has been a bit more recent. I bought a Trek Rail 5 in August 2021 and have had 2 or 3 episodes of pretty bad creaking since then. The first time the LBS fixed it after I complained to the online store I bought it from. They...
Having spent some time on this forum over the last couple days, I was blown away by the upgrades people have done to their Trek and also how long people had owned some of them and are still enjoying it!
I decided to sort mine out. As well as the main pivot work that’s due to be done, I’ve also...
Wow… just come across this thread and read through it. The upgrades are off the scale, I have a Trek Rail 5 that I am having trouble enjoying right now let alone spending thousands on upgrades! I’ve replaced the handlebars for 40mm FatFace riser bars, swapped the stock brakes for Magura MT5s and...
I had read this, and was hoping someone else may have already done the leg work 😆 guess I need to get down to my local nail shop then with my daughter in tow!!
Thanks 😊
This is great to know! I do a lot of riding locally and tend to do anywhere between 14-22 miles most rides but never tested the limit of the battery! I have a ride next week which is an organised event and it’s 38 miles, already worrying the battery won’t last! Not sure why, it’s not like a car...
Hey everyone. I fitted a rear mudguard and thought I’d been clever with it but after two rides noticed that I had missed where it was rubbing on the seat stay (as pictured). I now have two spots (one each side) that are completely down to the metal, maybe about the size of a 5p or slightly...
That’s nice, and looks like it would do the job but I’m not paying £34 for a tiny piece of plastic lol the shipping to UK is almost as much as the product! £16 is reasonable but with delivery it’s far too much. Thanks for the link
Just to add mine has been a lot better of late, but I’m not sure exactly what fixed it. Firstly, I dropped the forks out when I was upgrading my bars, Cleaned and greased it up. Secondly, had new brakes fitted so LBS stripped out battery and motor to fit it all, been a lot better since those two...
Looks like I have some work to do. I have already regreased the headset/forks. I will check all the bolts and maybe drop the motor next. I did just discover after my last ride that the rear wheel has a wobble, not buckled but actually wobbles so I need to look at that too. Considering how much...
Wow, I have this! Thought I was going mad but this noise has been present since I took delivery, just not so bad. It's still not as bad the one in the video but it's still really annoying. Quite concerned that nobody has been able to stop it yet.
