Put your phone in "flight mode" first, turn on wifi and start updating. Leave the phone near the bike during the process.
I successfully updated two bikes (mine Orbea rise and my wife's) several times.
I am 72kg and ride medium size M20. After average ride of 40km and 800+m of elevation I still have 3 of 5 bars of battery left. 90% in trail mode in 10% boost (profile 1). My wife who is the same weight and ride same type of Rise, consumes one bar more of the battery at the same ride.
I ride my M20 on default profile #1. Mostly in Trail mode. Very rarely Boost. Only on step technical climbs, full of rocks or roots.
Usually I get home with 3 bars of battery after 40 km ride with 1000 m of climbing. My wife on the same ride returns with 2 bars. Also, on M20.
I couldn't found any release notes or firmware update info for EP8 RS on Shimano E tube project site:

Hi guys,
I’m curious what is the reason for firmware upgrade anyway?
I have been purchased my Rise in October last year and from my point of view motor works perfectly fine.
I’m using only profile 1, 90% time in trail mode.
Regards,
V
