Dengfu E55 (Emtb) and E56 (Fat Bike) - New selection of DIY frame

Thanks Ben! That's very helpful. It looks to me like a coil will work (might want a progressive coil though) on this frame. (y)

Dengfu E55 (Emtb) and E56 (Fat Bike) - New selection of DIY frame

Thanks for the info, Ben. But I agree with TQFreak. That bottom cover is a frame specific cover--not motor specific as no other bike using that motor uses that cover. It should really come with the frame as many already have a motor and there's no way the paint will match if it isn't painted...

Bafang motors and their firmware (policy)

No, not at all. I completely agree with your assessment. As of now, the one thing I know does work (as Ford Perfect described) is to get an M620 in UART protocol. The software is free, you don't need an expensive controller, password, account, BEST tool, etc. Just a $20 cable and a computer...

Dengfu E55 (Emtb) and E56 (Fat Bike) - New selection of DIY frame

Thanks for the info Ben. Just to confirm I'm translating correctly, if one orders an E56 frame he can specify if he wants it set up for a 190X45 or a 210X55mm shock? Do you plan to have an Aliexpress listing with these options or should one contact you directly?

(Full sus) Fat bike frames for smaller/lighter motors than M620

Nice looking bike! I wasn't aware Light Carbon was making E-fatbikes now. If they had been a couple of years ago I may have gone with one of theirs. I'll have to look into their offerings a bit more. The Lamere is basically the Shimano version of the Dengfu E06--the E06 rear coupled to the...

Dengfu E55 (Emtb) and E56 (Fat Bike) - New selection of DIY frame

Well that's a bummer. My E06 already has that much. Wattwagons and Biktrix use the same setup for both. I don't see any differences in the rear triangle from the pictures posted that would require they be different travel--maybe one could purchase the other clevis separately in order to use a...

Dengfu E55 (Emtb) and E56 (Fat Bike) - New selection of DIY frame

Very exciting to see this, Ben! A couple of questions: From the pictures above, the E55 and E56 are using different length clevis and shocks. Are those the final configurations? If so, do the two frames have the same travel? What are the shock sizes for each?

    Dengfu E06

Sorry for the delay; been on a trip with limited internet time...testing the E06 in its natural habitat! It is one impressive machine for covering a lot of rough ground really fast. And climbing things many ebikes would struggle with mightily. I haven't looked for fitted graphics. I...

If your controller cable looks like this: It's UART. If it looks like this: It's Canbus.

Yeah, a Mastodon is definitely overkill for your uses. You should have clearance for a bigger chainring than stock, but I'm not sure if 52 will work--they're cheap, I'd get a couple and see how big you can go. If your bike is UART, programming is easy and you should be able to find somebody to...

Bafang M500/M600 Tuning & The BESST Tool

That's largely the impression I got from the Ultra with the stock programming as well. The good news is if ornias 'n the gang can crack the code, this certainly can be fixed. It's fixed on my Ultra. I can't claim any credit as the tuning I'm using is largely a copy of Frey's "smooth" tuning...

While I still haven't tried very hard yet, this will give you some insight into top pedaling speed capability with the stock drivetrain: Keep in mind that's with the Maxxis 4.8's which are taller than the stock 26X4's. If you're after higher speeds for more road use, you might want to up the...

Bafang M500/M600 Tuning & The BESST Tool

If I'm interpreting the name of that file correctly, does that mean you feel 38V is a proper cutoff voltage for a 48v system? I believe that would correspond to the "Low Battery Protect (V)" value on my Ultra. It's currently set at 41. Does that sound right?

Bafang M500/M600 Tuning & The BESST Tool

I really hope you guys get the Canbus programming figured out. I just got an Ultra equipped bike and was very happy that it came with UART. In just a day or two of programming I've pretty radically transformed the feel of the motor for the better making it much smoother and progressive with...

    Dengfu E06

Well, so far the top speed I've hit was 32 MPH, but that's just messing around, I haven't actually tried a "top speed run" yet. I hit 30 MPH on a ride yesterday...going uphill. :D Those numbers are from my Garmin GPS, not the display. It's best not to be looking at the display when riding...

OK, you asked for it! ;) Yesterday it rained for the first time in about a month, so naturally that was New Bike Day! Initial order was on April 7th, it shipped May 18th--I asked for a custom color which may have slowed that down a bit--and showed up yesterday. I got no useful tracking...

The only display I've been able to identify from pictures is the G961, but it's not clear what build that is from and it may be obsolete if they've switched to CANbus. I was originally planning to use an aftermarket display (Eggrider) so I didn't really care what mine would come with. But if...
