I just realized Shimano has two 630Wh batteries that look and feel the same but have zero compatibility.
Wondering how many people got 8036 for EP801 or 806 for EP800 and had to deal with returns...
I get it, the new 10-step battery reading requires some new internals and overal battery...
I have somewhat similar issue with my e160 8000
Does your 900 have ep8 motor?
Does it sound anywhere close to this? ( Shimano EP8 clicks. )
Does the click go away after a few miles into the ride? (Mine does)
Huh: Quick Update - Trier swapping the cranks left to right - same click.
Here is what mine sounds like:

Sorry for poor sound but I think the clicks on1st two rotations of the pedals are pretty loud.
Tried to push and pull the cranks before this test - looks like it made no difference.
It's been a while. Did you figure it out? My Merida e160 is doing exactly that - clicks at the beginning of every ride. Sometimes for 5K, sometimes 10K. The click happens around the same phase or pedal rotation - whan I push hard woth my right foot.
Looks like it goes away much faster on...
It kind of self-resolved. Found out that the play is normal. People say It has to be there for the internal clutch to work properly and anything up to whole 2mm of movement is good.
It does not affect ride quality and although I would prefer no play at all - I just forgot about it and enjoy...
I’m experiencing similar wear pattern as the topic starter. Got 0.25 wear real quick (~50km) an was scared. But that 0.25 is still same after 500km, so it looks like new chains somehow reach initial wear real quick on emtbs and then the process slows down.
Fyi: that is SLX 12speed cassette and...
Thank you! So far 50/50 in this thread have some play/have no play at all ( or 60/40 if I count myself ). Which it not statistically meaningful, but makes me think some minimal play is actually fine.
Moreover, there is a thread related to previous generation of Shimano motor: E8000 "bottom...
It's Shimano FCEM600. Although, it does not seem to be connected to the cranks whatsoever. The whole assembly is moving. I'm sure it will do same even if I remove the cranks completely.
I've noticed some weird play on my ep8 today.
The bike has 400km on it.
Symptoms:
1. The play occurs when I push the chainring or the right crank towards the bike.
2. Both (outer and inner) shafts, chainrings and cranks are moving as one piece.
3. It's spring loaded - when I release pressure -...
Thank You! This explains the headset internals really well. The bike is on the way to me, and it looks like headset should be very compatible with my child seat!
Thank you! Is that because of not enough spacers or different spacer shape? The 8000 I'm shooting for comes with the light and shaped spacers, but the cables still seem to go into the frame Under the spacers, and the head tube is still round, so I guess I can replace a shaped spacer with the...
Quick question to 2021 carbon eOne-Sixty owners:
How many spacers on the head tube did your bike came with?
I'm looking at random images. Some seem to have 3x5mm, and some just one 1x2mm ). Most of my own bikes ( including road Merida ) came with at least 30mm of spacers.
It's critical for me...
