My 530 automatically updates. Garmin are terrible at supporting older devices, even if they still sell them new - the last update to the 530 appears to be over 2 years ago. For a Garmin device it's reliable and I've not noticed any bugs, but it could do with an update to the e bike...
Interesting. I've found the Garmin %age completely reliable. Garmin gives low battery at 25% now (it changed at some point) but its' exactly 20% that the on bike control turns red. The range I got out from the 93% charge was c10% less than a full battery would have given me (I rode until it...
Bike is new, I ran it down and was *trying* to go best practice and charge to 80% then top to 100% the night before I rode.
4 hours took it from 10%-93%. A little higher than I'd planned. (I'm looking at the battery percentage on a Garmin so get accurate reading)
But when I tried to top it...
The 25 rise has shorter seat tubes - size large was 460mm on the original 21 bikes, it's 430 on the 25 model
I'd trust the Orbea size charts. My partner is 165cm and has traditionally been on smalls but is on a Medium rise and it's a good fit.
all the little bits of weight add up - lightweight alloy carrier with a steel ring would seem the best solution but, given that's two of us who've got over 2000 miles from the alloy it doesn't seem a bad option.
(where did you see both for sale? and where did you find it for £50?)
What is the impact of the reduced power (rather than torque) on the Rise? I was thinking it would mean you'd get up something just as steep as on a unrestricted bike, but not quite as quickly?
So this looks like 'core' product (maybe not yet aftermarket). The M-Team has the aluminium 'race' version of the ring.
also interesting - SRAM direct mount mech on the Rise SL LTD. Good to know that fits (I thought issue was that SRAM didn't make a chainring for the Shimano motor, but it...
The guided routing on the new Rise is a big improvement on the original but having done two bikes IME you do still need to drop the motor. It just seems to press enough on the brake hose that you can't feed it. Once it's out I could pretty easily push a hose in at the rear stay and it emerged...
Just fitting my different brakes to my new M10 and noticed the chainring seemed super heavy and it seems to be magnetic - whereas the one on the old 21 M10 definitely wasn't. It's the same shape as the alu ones on e13 site, but doesn't have the machining.
Conclusion has to be that the new...
The app says you can switch between modes "using certain bike computers". Does anyone know a model that does this?
bike is a rise, no shimano display, I use with a Garmin edge 530
coming back to this I've compared the settings on our 21 Rises to the new 25 Rise. I know shimano updated the eTube app so it now gives a 'basic' mode and a 'fine tune' mode. Fine tune allows you to have up to 15 active modes to switch between (no idea what the shimano display would show for...
Can anyone put up the standard/default/factory settings for the EP8 and 801? I' intrigued as to the differences between the 'regular' and the profiles that ship with the Orbea Rise
If you want to add the. to the template its here -
Rise 25 - 8nm (not 10 as up thread) but that seems to have solved it. There was a lot of turning and creaking beyond what I’d considered “headset tight” before it reached the torque setting.
Will be a pain to try to do on the trail.
Avoid running flat. If you’re not riding for a while it’s best to have it charged between 20 and 80% and only fully charge when you’re going to use it again.
if its using the old batteries the it feels like an 0.5 revision - weight presumably be the same as last year bar 100g for the motor? the new 800 battery would have shaved of another 500g
would like to see a real world weight for this vs the Rise now
maybe the same length and fixing points. that would make sense. design for the 800 and you can slot in the 600
knocking 500g off the weight and upping the capacity is impressive.
