I run Speedi NLS on my Bosch Smart bike. It is really good. At least 4-5 of my buddies have the same setup. One runs the Speedi on his Levo too.
Yoak got one detail wrong though, the bike thinks it has done less distance than it actually has. My Bosch Smart System only has the LED battery...
Update on the RS Vivid Ultimate. 230x60 on 2023 Size Large 9.8.
Long story short, it is awesome and I wish I did it earlier.
I'm actually glad I chose the Vivid over the Coil Super Deluxe I was considering.
When I first installed the Vivid it had one volume spacer and it was really linear...
I can confirm this Rockshox Vivid Ultimate fits nicely 230x60. Gen4 Rail 9.8 size L.
Only a few rides in and it feels great. I've had plenty of coil shocks before and this feels very close. It's fantastic having proper compression adjustment and hydraulic bottom out.
Hey bike looks awesome. Do you like this shock on this bike? I’m thinking about doing the same. Did you consider 62.5mm stroke and did you consider the Vivid air?
This is an awesome build. Lovely. I’m considering the SDU Coil for my Gen 4, are you happy with the shock compared to the SD air that came with it? Do you think 62.5mm stroke would work? Did you consider the Vivid?
Cheers
Cool thanks, I haven't seen much written about changing rear shocks on the Gen 4 Rail. I would hope 62.5 is possible given the eye to eye is the same and there seems to be plenty of clearance for a larger piggy back. There are a bunch of tunes available so I was hoping someone had already done...
750w Gen 4 Rail 9.8 GX AXS size L.
So far I've changed the following
- Ergon Sm-E Core Prime saddle. Stock Bonty saddle was the first thing to go, the Ergon e-bike mtb saddle is like wearing a Nike trainer on your bum. It is so comfy.
- Bontrager Line Elite carbon wheels. I destroyed the...
Hi all,
Has anyone tried the new Rockshox Vivid shock on a Gen 4 Rail? A mate has just installed one on his Levo and loves it. What stroke length and tune would you go for?
Cheers
I have a DT HX 1700 wheel set that I ran for about 18 months. In that time I destroyed one rear rim, broke only 1 spoke and my replacement rim DT HX531 has a flat spot and some dents. It has lasted much better than most other wheel sets Ive had. I tend to destroy wheels very quickly for some...
25kph is unacceptable for an electric mountain bike, it leaves no choice but to derestrict our bikes here in Aus. My ten or so emtb buddies all have derestricted bikes. I can't comment on commuter bikes because I only ride my emtb on trails. I would not buy a bike that cannot be derestricted...
Just an update to round out this post if anyone was interested. Trek supplied a warranty replacement seat stay and chain stay and my local Trek dealer fitted it for me (at a cost of around AUD$300).
My rear end is running dead straight now and my problem is resolved.
Cheers for your input.
So my local Trek dealer took a good look over my bike yesterday and agreed that it's not right. There is a bearing alignment issue. They have filed a warranty claim with Trek.
They believe the issue is most likely around the Active Braking Pivots where the seat stays join the chan stay and on...
Cool I'll ask my LBS tomorrow if they have a frame alignment tool. If they don't I'll head into the Trek store when I'm visiting the big city (2.5hrs away) :)
I'll push my LBS to maybe change the split pivots / drop outs and the swing arm bearings
Hi, The bike is over a year old. I'm not sure if the misalignment is something I haven't noticed previously or its a new problem that has appeared. I usually notice things like this so I feel like the issue has happened recently.
A frame alignment tool, thats exactly what I need. I'm not sure...
