What motors can be derestricted without errors?

If thats the case thats utterly bloody disgraceful. It's amazing how far the '3 strikes and out' thing has gone because I've never seen anything other than the same thing said throughout the internet. Just goes to show we are being lied to. Thanks for all your insight.

Where can one find this software?!

    Like your imput and thoughts.

You won't sacrifice any distance or battery life if you stay within the restricted speed limit for much of your riding, as I do, despite fitting a dongle. I rarely go over the UK 15.5mph limit but it's nice to have it there if I need/want to. Even then I only set it to 21.7mph on startup, and it...

    Advice on photochromic glasses please

I've been around in circles in a similar position re contacts, specs and sport. I've ended up saying sod it and went for the simple option in the end - I gave up the faff of contacts (unless swimming) and went back to prescription specs. On rides I just use prescription sunglasses and if I'm out...

    Cracked allmtn 7

😮 Jaysus! I can't imagine how much force would need to be applied to the frame to fracture it in not one but two places, both of which are strong areas too. If theres no other damage on the bike I can't see how Haibike could possibly say this was anything other than a catastrophic warranty...

"2nd dead bosch gen 4 motor not happy

I absolutely take your points about cost when tweeking designs but this issue should have been dealt with at the initial design stage as you say and discussing costs now is somewhat irrelevant to the point being raised. Frankly I don't give a monkeys if this shite design costs Bosch dearly in...

"2nd dead bosch gen 4 motor not happy

I take your mechanical experience onboard but with a fair bit of history myself I feel a 'decent enough' sealing system would come with only a marginal reduction in range. Theres so many ways to seal a shaft and granted they normally like to be splash fed oil but theres some decent self-lubing...

"2nd dead bosch gen 4 motor not happy

Yes it's very simple, Bosch could just make the PCB 'potted' or coat the whole thing with resin like the blue fluid in your pic. Alternatively, (a radical thought I know) they could avoid having to pot anything and just make sure that any shaft open to the elements is sealed properly just like...

"2nd dead bosch gen 4 motor not happy

Not a dig either but the difference is that theres many, many independent repair shops who can replace the battery in 99% of phones out there. I do get your point though, if it was a PCB inside the phone then it might be trickier as I doubt you could buy one but I guess the difference is that...

    Bosch charger output, fried motor?

I'm not sure it's possible given the required canbus handshake needed before the charger starts outputting. Maybe someone knows the voltage on the canbus pin but unless you can trigger it, that won't help re checking the main output. Hopefully someone will come along that knows a bit more than...

    E bike... Alps

Up the Super Morzine/Seraussaix/Pleny/Zore wasn't a problem getting them onto the lifts for me personally even with my heavy ass Haibike but there were a couple of occasions when it caused some cussing amongst others. The lift attendants (who can do their job super efficiently with their eyes...

    Sold 2023 Haibike NDURO 8 XL: £2999

Weight, schmait. I can't express how upsetting it is to see this bike going for £3k when I paid 4.5 for my AllMtn3 😭

Could Giant be up for a class action?

Totally out of order to remotely nuke something especially given it could well be being used legally, derestricted on private land. Reminds me of a period in my electric unicycle group when a load of guys bought direct from China, saving £500 on a £4k wheel and the manufacturers stunned the lot...

EMTB for £3000? Narrowed down to 3 options. Marin, Cube or Orbea.

I'd go for the Cube all day due to the Bosch CX and 750Wh and unless you're lifting it around all day the weight difference really isn't an issue between them all. Crap forks but can always sort those later. Seems like a good price for a fun bike IMO.

What did you do to your EBike this week?

I only went for 180 Domains cos my general MTB ineptitude was smashing through the 160 Lyrics in Morzine. But of course the 180/29" setup only made the whole front end feel even bigger. It's also not helped by the frame being an XL which is right on the cusp of being too big for my height. So...

B screw backed right out - jockey gap still too much?

Right an update then....drum roll....I found the problem! I bought a hanger alignment tool and so as I was backing out the mech bolt to remove it I glimpsed the mech rotate....hmm that wasn't right I thought. Turns out that the mech was binding on the hanger bolt when done up tight and of...

What did you do to your EBike this week?

Been musing about de-mulleting my bike since I got it, I just never gelled with what felt like a bloody huge wheel way out in front of me and I found it particularly irritating in slow twisty techy stuff. Finally (over 2 years later lol) picked up a used 27.5" wheel in excellent condition and...

B screw backed right out - jockey gap still too much?

Yeah the alignment mark isnt far off but it does say '51' which of course mine isnt (its a 50) but I wouldnt think it would make much difference. Plus I'm still not sure it explains the reason for the screw being backed right out. Chain is deffo on the chainring correctly, it wont sit on the...

B screw backed right out - jockey gap still too much?

Why would one want lateral movement on a part that I would have thought would want to be as slop-free as possible for accurate engagement/alignment? I've ordered a tool, I'm not giving up until I find the reason for this. I will update with what I find!
