Levo Gen 3 first ride on a Zeb

Just put a Zeb Ultimate on my 19 Levo Comp - big improvement over Revelations in holding a line across roots and off cambers, plus I can run a 220 rotor

Are expensive bike lights a rip off?

I started off with VistaLites in the 90's and then when I got back into riding about 15 yrs ago I bought my first Gloworm lights. Not cheap, but you can customize the beam pattern with changeable optics, their mounts are nice and clean and the remote makes changing output easy. This is the X2...

Helmet lights - what do you use for night time winter riding?

Not the cheapest option but the new Gloworm generation 2 lights look good - better cables/plugs, battery displays, handlebar remote and customisable optics Gloworm X2 Adventure Lightset (G2.0) | Glowormlites

It will fit in an Osprey Talon 44 in Large with the guard still attached. Pack has a floating top to handle the length.

Brose s-mag quits in middle of ride

The Brose on my Levo cut out mid ride a couple of times, so I took it to the shop for them to have a look at it, only thing they could see wrong was dirt and disc dust build up on the speed magnet on the rear disc. Gave it a clean, no issues since.

What's the steepest hill / mountain / mineshaft you've climbed?

I'd call that a ramp or a pitch

Levo Gen 2 Turbo Levo Rear wheel axle sheared

I've broken two of those on my 2019 Comp, no major jumps or stunts, but a constant 130kg load isn't easy on parts. Having said that, the rest of the Roval wheelset has managed more than 5000k without a single issue

    EMTB for large rider?

I'm 6'5" and 125kg (275lb) and fit an XL Levo no problem. If I was buying a new bike an XL Trek or Giant would fit OK, if it was a new Levo I'd be an S5 or S6

Kenevo Gen1 Specialized release overpriced bike which is likely just as F***ing reliable as the last one

I've had a few issues with my Levo over the last two years, but nothing that wasn't resolved quickly, and mostly part failures, nothing to do with the motor. Last one was this seatpost nut exploding, resulting in long ride home standing up the whole way. I'm going to look at the new alloy...

    You can ring my bell!

Actually doesn't make much difference so long as the bell isn't touching anything and can resonate

    You can ring my bell!

Timber Bell is a bit tricky to mount discreetly, but I ended up with it over the right hand brake lever where I can switch it on and off without letting go of the grip.

    You can ring my bell!

Agree, I run the timber bell and its great on any trail with blind corners, walkers or livestock. Often get thanks from walkers as I pass.

Levo Gen 2 Tyre Pressures ?

20f/25r on Butcher 2.6/Eliminator 2.6 Blkdmnd with Cushcore in both. I'd weigh 130kg all kitted up. Been as low as 15/18 without issue.

Levo SL Gen 1 Replacing Butchers?

I'm running a Butcher 2.6 Grid on the front and an Eliminator 2.6 BlckDnmd on the rear, both on Cushcore (20f/25r psi). No issues at all for my riding on everyday trails and intermediate bike park runs, good grip at relatively low pressures for my weight (125kg) without any squirm. Only thing...

the future of ebikes , banned from lots of trails !?

Update - ebikes are now allowed on the chairlifts at CAP (Christchurch Adventure Park, NZ). I'd suggest putting them in the two middle trays as the whole thing goes on a worrying tilt if you use the outside positions! Now just need DOC to get with it so I can ride the Paparoa legally - Paparoa...

    Same questions, different day.....

I reckon any of these bikes will do the trick, but of those I'd go for the Merida - it looks like the EP8 motor is more tunable. Which ever you choose make sure you're confident in the shop you buy from - any warranty issues on these bikes are pricey (as a Levo owner I know - all sorted promptly...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

1x new chain for the Levo, only the second one in two years. Broke the current chain last week doing an ill advised climb in too high a gear, fixed it with a quick link, but not too confident in its durability, so pays to have plan B readty

    Winter clothing

I'm a fan of a long sleeve merino base layer and the Endura Windchill jacket - windproof on the front, flexible and long in the back (with pockets for phone, multitool etc. Usually pair it up with three quarter tights and baggies with a water repellent backside. Beanies are a good idea to keep...
