That must be a V2 frame, I still have the X2 that wouldn't fit my V1 frame.

Here is the Lexan polycarbonate motor guard I made. I just used a heat gun to soften it enough to bend, as you can tell I over heated it in a lot of places. The right way to do it would have been to make a form out of plaster or something and heat the Lexan carefully in a oven and drape it over...

I can take a picture tonight or tomorrow. it was my first time bending plexiglass and I have no skill what so ever. I did test it pretty hard with a hammer after forming.

I finally broke the motor guard. Is there a better replacement option than the original extremely fragile one? I made a temporary replacement from a piece of 1/4 inch Lexan using a heat gun to bend it. It is really fucking ugly, but it is essentially shatter proof.

Try switching to metallic brake pads, with very little practice you will be able to modulate the brake lever to emit a screech what will wake the dead.

On my bike the speed sensor wire connector vibrated loose and I had to old fashion it all the way back uphill. What are you guys doing to keep the connectors from vibrating OFF?

The face shield feels to thin and flexible it might deflect to much under impact and not protect the motor. On the other hand if the guard is too stiff it would transfer too much impact force to the frame and maybe crack the carbon. I will go to Tap Plastics next week to check out thicker pieces.

I've only read about the polycarbonate molding method, never done it.

What is the methodology, sounds interesting? Do you just apply epoxy resin and carbon cloth over the existing?

TC ( or do we call you Clyde or Flow) did you save all the pieces, to glue back together to make a mold?

Could add another layer to the outside of the existing guard or make a plaster cast inside the existing guard as a plug mold to form a complete new one.

How about making your own out of Polycarbonate, ie. Lexan, it seems like a ideal material, highly impact resistant. Its a thermoplastic so should be able bend/shape it yourself. heat to 300 f in oven. I think I have an old face shield that I can sacrifice to try it myself.
