Hi... has anyone ever done this? I'm not a big fan of the ribbed bottom on my bike AND I am hoping to get a bit more space from all the motor harnesses that are under the motor cover. Thanks!
So I lost my battery cover on the trail and looked online for a replacement. Covers specifically for my bike model (2020 Trance-E) were not available, stateside or in Europe. Out of desperation, I ordered this from the Giant website (I have a 500 Wh battery)...
Tired of crashing and ripping my brake line off (I removed the bump stop before because it was broken). Does anyone know the part number or even a ghetto version? Thanks.
Polished aluminum raw. It forms a native oxide. Officially, all my bikes are now this finish (except the DH bike... that got chromed). I have a problem.
My remote died so I figured I'd do a full rebuild.
Stripped all the parts and electronics off.
Stripped paint.
320, 600, 1000 grit and then buffing wheel.
Finished product. Stuffing the harnesses was the HARDEST task.
@Gary, the balance bike as it currently stands. Mini-enduro with 160/147mm travel F/B. Suspension is pretty dialed, and the Zee brakes provide the best-value stopping power. I LOVE this bike! The cheater bike is almost identical aside from the 170mm fork (which I now think is overkill and...
Don't sell your suffer bike... there'll be days where you want to take that out instead of the cheater bike. I'm sure you're grabbing the ebike a lot more since you got it, but the novelty wears off (for me it did anyway). Plus you'll have rides where it'll be all suffer dudes... riding with...
Hopefully the LAST upgrades on this previously base-model bike (so far, RS Lyrik Ultimate fork at 170mm travel, Fox Float X2 rear shock at 185X55mm, X01 drivetrain, Amazon special cassette, Shimano Zee brakes, Magura 220mm front rotor, Maxxis DHF and HR2 tires):
This is for the 2020 Giant Trance with the speed sensor magnet bolted on the rear rotor. I moved the sensor and placed it on the left chainstay. Orientation is important for the sensor to pick up the signal (see picture). Mounted the magnet to the tip of my left crank (again, see photos). So...
Mine after a wash too.... hoping that I am done with the mods, which include:
1) Cane Creek 1.5 deg angleset
2) Lyrik Ultimate 170 mm travel fork
3) Fox DPX2 (185X55)
4) Shimano Zee brakes
5) Magura MDRP 220 mm front rotor
Curious, what tire pressures are people running on their bikes? I'm 160...
I've ran coil and air on different bikes. Most coil shocks are wound to be linear rate (but there are progressive ones out there now) which means very litte ramp up to the end of travel. Coil shocks are also stiction free since they don't need air seals. Air shocks have inherent ramp (more...
I followed the original poster's route with the front fork and now it's at 170mm (I have a Lyrik Ultimate with some moderate offset to it.. I forget). FOR SURE it feels more stable at speed and confidence inspiring on the steeps. I also opted to stick with 27.5 because a big front wheel just...
Welp, I've done two rides on the DPX2 (base Performance... no LSC). The parking lot test suggested that the rebound tune was pretty light... I could still see one oscillation even after I had the rebound adjuster at fully closed. This was a bit concerning because my worst fear is getting...
Have you tested yours yet? I installed my DPX2 and the rebound tune feels pretty light even at fully closed... not sure if it's just valved so it still feels relatively open at low speed. The DPS feels considerably slower (rebound).
