My only intention was to provide (@Dave_B) my personal, non scientific, rudimentary A-B quick test regarding his open query. Also, both bikes were not default Turbo/Max. Both were adjusted full power through their respective apps. I enjoyed hearing others opinions and just wanted to share mine.
I did a direct comparison with my friends Levo SL today, me riding my Trek Fuel EXe 9.8 XT. The plan was (originally) to watch his face light up with the difference in power. Instead, he and I both realized the second we swapped, that the SL feels way more powerful (torque wise) on flat and...
Unfortunately that mode (or any mode) can't be tuned. When I purchased my Trek Rail in Feb. of 2021 the Tour mode was perfect. It responded exactly like the Eco mode but with a little more assistance, just like you think it should. After about 3 weeks of riding I had an issue with the battery...
Or, just use the bike/motor the way it was intended to be used. Shimano have done more R&D on this product than any of us will ever become aware of. Their warranty is written as such. By your own admission, you have breached that warranty. Thus, a redundant...useless thread.
No, you don't need it, but it looks better with it. This is a common issue. It's happened on all 3 CX motors I have. 3m double sided tape, construction adhesive etc. will do the trick.
Future doesn't always mean better. I've owned/ridden bosch, shimano and specialized (sl and brose motors). The bosch has, by far, been the most reliable for me. It feels more natural and has excellent power. I've heard their customer support is excellent, but haven't had to use it so cannot...
Quick question, is the Lyrik the fork the bike came stock with? I thought the 9.8's came stock with the Zeb. If indeed the bike has been "modified", that may be the reason for the claim denial. Just a thought. Also, I agree with the others, it's minor enough to be confidently repaired.
Absolutely. Grinding the chip down will work as I have done it. I'm on a large frame with the stock Zeb fork. Plenty of clearance and so happy to be rid of it.
100% agree on the failure to acknowledgement and poor quality control. Yes, there is damage to the main frame as well. I do believe I caught it in time, it is actually deeper than the paint layer, but has not disturbed the fibers. I’m acutely aware that all bikes have some issues, however, this...
At the risk of sounding argumentative (which is truly not my intention), I'm going to approach this reply as gingerly as possible. By law, a defective product is one that cannot be used for the purposes intended OR is made dangerous as a result of a flaw or imperfection. Such a defect might...
I emailed them with this exact problem, this is their response:
"These light scratches are merely cosmetic and should not be a cause for concern.
To avoid this area from being scratched further we recommend ensuring that there is a light amount of grease on the spacer here and to make sure this...
