I think it's basically the same rack as mine. If you look at my photos my rack mudguard probably sit closer to the tyre than yours. I'm not using the spacer at the front of the rack and had to cut down the rear one a fair bit. The metal brace under the mudguard from the rack to the rear stay...
Riding this thing all over the place on familiar routes, I no longer avoid the hilly ways. Ride mainly in eco, sometimes with no motor and very occasionally in tour, turbo for a laugh! I've got it set up how I want it now and it's a pleasure to ride.
Hi, here are measurements of the rack you were asking for:
the rear sloping leg is 39cm
the vertical leg is 34cm
the horizontal bar is 20cm between the two legs
this is measured from the centre of the fixing point on the frame to the point where the legs joins the lower horizontal bar
It comes with all the fittings you need, just needs a bit of time and patience to fit properly. What you end up with is a practical trekking bike that you can strip back if you want to get more serious offroad.
Hi, yes. I had to cut a fair bit off the front mudguard stays. I also had to cut down the plastic block at the rear of the rack shown in one of the photos. I went out for a very muddy off-road ride on Friday and the mudguards made a massive difference. They didn’t clog up either. It was also a...
When I got my bike I had a plan to use it stripped back for summer off road blasts and then in the winter use it more sedately as a trekking bike. So I have bought some Cube Acid mudguards and a rack and refitted the prop stand it came with. They were a bit of a fiddle to fit, the rear guard has...
Funny you should mention that, just got both and fitting them this weekend. The rack integrates with the mudguard meaning you don’t have to have stays for the guard. The mudguards aren’t quite full length, couldn’t find full length ones anywhere.
Todays news:
- the bike is called Nellie, it's large and grey
- visited the Post office on Nellie, normally drive as it's uphill on the way back all the way, environment saved!
- discovered a port for charging the battery on the bike, who knew?
- fettled headset no longer clicks or creaks
-...
Same as me! Saw you commented on my thread>, let us know how you get on tomorrow. Coming from a 26" wheel MTB it seemed a bit unwieldy initially, mines a large and I'm 6'1".
It was clicky/creaky! I also took a headset spacer off to bring the bars down a little bit. Fingers crossed I've sorted it. If not it will have to come completely apart.
