Hi , yes the cable replacement fixed the issue , the damp seems to get in lower down and gets through the plug into the motor , probably a good idea to unplug the cable and let the motor socket area dry out for a few days in the warm

I have been in touch with the UK importer and they side with the dealer other than saying I can use the bike in the wet but I need to strip and dry the bike out every time I ride in the wet or wash it , so my experience with them is not much better
