My two year old yeti has the EP8 and it sounds like the bearings are shot so I’ll be having to find somewhere that sells the motor and I have no idea as to what cost it will be. The is my second emtb and I said I wouldn’t buy anything with Shimano again but wanted the Yeti. Next time it’s a...
For the sake of anyone thinking about it in future here are the thoughts from the first two rides one in dry sandy rocky conditions and the other in the Forrest.
peddle strikes in the rocks was really noticeable and almost came off a few times, line choice becomes a lot more critical.

Anybody tried running a mullet set up yet?
I have just set it up and waiting on the first ride, and I’m just interested in any experiences people might have had.
cheers
The bike has always climbed pretty well once I worked out what mode works best with what gear I'm in, Turbo was in the too power full in certain gears climbing rock gardens. Eleven Six has made climbing so much better as the rear wheel is just planted for max grip. no issues with tyre as such...
Yeti recommended the rear setting for coils although I did try this on the original air shock but didn't notice a difference.
The tires are the Maxxis the bike came with. might change the rear to a Dissector over the DHR2.
I’ve been running the Eleven Six for about a month and it’s well worth it. Big improvement on tech climbs and super smooth on the loose rocky stuff. I have Fox coil on my Sam2 and the thats great on that bike. The Push coil was a much bigger step up than the fox air to coil but it would be at...
Hi Steve, it basically doesn't work at all! my frame is a medium and I can't even sit on the bike (80kg) without it touching. if I want to do a bigger day I just swap out the shock back to standard and use the tec pack.
I would rather have shorter rides as the tec pack makes the bike feel...
Unfortunately the can hits the Tec pack, your right in the way the assembly moves which was my hope when I got the coil but alas it wasn't to be and just the sag take up is enough to hit the battery.
That said the improvement the coil brings even for a hack like me over rides the lack of...
The Tec pack won't fit as the shock hits the Tec Pac, I have poured over this on my bike for ages and I'll just get another bike like the Jam or Orbea for longer days.
It's a real shame and the shock can't be mounted upside down as the same issue with the can hitting the frame this time.
Hi Samrider
I'm running a Fox DHX2 which is fantastic, only issue is that the TEC pack no longer fits. I got mine set up out of the box from a great company in Brisbane Oz. sorry I can't be of more help but at least you can take the DHX2 off the list.
Hi Guy's
I'm riding a Sam2 and having plenty of fun, looking at a second bike and look forward to getting lots of advice and help from you guy's.
Cheers
