cube 140s aren't exactly high-end. Unless it was the ActionTeam or SLT versions?
The race/sl are solid fullies at a decent price. Fullies are both more comfortable (once rode a ht on loan and got headache) and will feel way more safe if newbies start to explore a bit of terrain beyond...
I get this most often teasingly from people who don't even ride bio-bikes or e-bikes.
I just reply "Not really lazy. Just not into pain and suffering". Which usually gets a laugh.
No laugh though when the "you are lazy" came from a hardcore bio-biker....
I stand corrected on the 10 gear having had 11-42 already. My bike came 11 gear already. Only did a quick search once for a friend for 10 gear casettes. And only got 11-36T as max at the time (if I remember the 36 correctly).
Very good to know! Thanks.
I guess you have a stronger motor...
Just upgraded my old 11speed 11-42T to the 11speed 11-50t derailleur a month ago when casette/chain were worn... :-/
would have waited for this.
Anyway...liking the gear ratios btw.
- 11-50t on 11 speed. only one other casette from shimano afaik.. pretty new too.... 46t was highest before...
I e-bike alone almost exclusively, same as I used to hike alone almost exclusively. It's just the way I enjoy nature the most. Getting out into nature was always the point of hiking, same as it is now for emtbiking....
Nothing wrong with knowing what you like and just doing it exactly that...
Swiss Alps (and hills) get steep fast. And it's really easy to accumulate height meters like crazy.
Depending on your fitness level and affinity to suffering. Motor power for the steepness and
battery size and/or ease of installing replacement battery (or fast charging speeds) for height meters...
You do know the EP8 has much reduced drag and that's most likely the reason for the clunking? And is the "compromise" Shimano has been saying they had to make.
So it still is a new and improved motor. Especially for folks who care more about drag and efficiency.
Age does have it's upsides :)
Mine ain't what it used to be either. Worst though is trying to follow conversations in very noisy environments with lots of other people talking though.... Hearing motor noises less is quite the boon though...
Always make an extra ruckus if hikers I am about to...
and if they'd left the drag in the ones which are now happy because less drag would be howling....
I really like this bike with crazy ass drag...said no one ever LOL
you can't please everybody.
I guess they are afraid to piss off the bike manufacturers. Enabling upgrade to ep8 would mean less sales for the bike makers. Angry bike manufacturers might just opt for different motor makers in the future...
My current one that I bought used: Until I can afford a Flyon Bike or somebody else comes along with > 400W real fast charging.
(assuming my current ebike doesn't break first)
That Flyon (or alternative fast charging bike): Entirely depends on tech advancements. If something tasty enough comes...
cadence sub 60 is bad for range on most motors I thought.
And yes. Flyon support modes are all heavily shifted compared to other motors. For hilly terrain I doubt you'll really need the upper 2 modes at all.
as for allmtn versus nduro:
Definitely the allmtn for me between the two. I doubt I...
For me it's not the power that is the almost irresistible draw of the flyon.
Matter of factly. I'd largely prefer the middle brother of the motor. Say 100/105Nm max. 550/550% High maximum support. A super eco mode and more silent, efficient as a result of being able to not maximize...
