    E8000 Battery Fix?

I have an external battery on my e8000 bike. The motor keeps cutting in and out on climbs in trail and boost. I am guessing it is bad cells in the battery preventing it from sending full voltage to motor.?. Has anyone had success in accessing BMS voltage info? Has anyone succeeded in...

Brand New e8000, 20kms Bearings Creaking

Seriously!! Brand new motor and the creak has already started. Shimano should be replacing these for free.

    Click/Creak Every Pedal Stroke

Commencal Meta Power Shimano e8000 motor A while back I clipped my left pedal on a rock and went over the bars. I clipped the rock so hard that the left crank was bent/twisted. The axle appears to be straight after I put some new cranks on. In the first 10 kms back riding a clicking sound came...

How long has your transmission lasted?

2019 meta power 29. I've done about 1500 kms so far. I have been rotating three chains every 300 kms or so. Barely any chain stretch. No burs on cassette so all good so far

    Delta SH Cranks

I bought some of these cranks but they don't have any of those lock tabs included. Is that normal? I ended up using the ones that came with the bike but they don't fit properly between the two allen bolts. So I had to file them down for the holes to line up with the bolts.

    How to break a collarbone...

So I clipped a pedal and went otb in a full SCORPION. It bent my crank but I've been wanting some 155mm cranks anyway so I guess it's an opportunity :) I wasn't going too fast or being a dickhead, it was just one of those things.

Answered How much less should you pay...

...for a new battery that is a year old? Pretty sure the lithium ion cells degrade even with use which means the 504 watt hour rating should be lower, right?

    Unexpected Shut Downs

Hey, The last few rides I have been getting unexpected shut downs of the motor. It's usually after about an hour and a half of riding. It boots back up and then sometimes shuts down again quickly. Usually it comes good though. Is it from heat maybe? Or something else, should I be worried...

What Sort of Range Do You Get e8000?

The first bar on mine seems to go a bit quicker than out of the box even though I've only done about 1000kms. I know range is dependent on many many factors but I get just over 1000 metres of climbing from a full charge in bike park conditions. The main climbs I do are 2016 world cup XC climbs.

Unanswered How Does Shimano Know If You've Derestricted Your Bike?

I can see how other manufacturers could tell because they have gps in their units and I suppose if Shimano printed a graph of usage they could tell (mainly for someone who is always derestricted and flogging their bike all the time). I frequently switch from restricted to derestricted. I am...

    Unanswered Battery Maintenance

Ok, so the nerds at endless sphere always talk about never charging your battery to 100% because it shortens its life. Conventional wisdom from NASA studies say you should only charge your battery to 70-80% and try to never run it below 20% and certainly not to zero percent. It also says to keep...

Three Weeks Later... Meta Power 29 Essential Fox

What an awesome bike! I can't imagine an bike is better than this for me. I mostly ride steep, rocky, rooty descents and this thing is so stable. The only time I lose control and stack is mostly on steep technical climbs. Wicked machine!

Unanswered Adding a GPS to your Bike (E8000)

Hey, has anyone added a dedicated GPS to their bike? I'm thinking of the ones that people use in cars and motorbikes that hook up to the battery and also have a dedicated battery. I think the E8000 has a 6 volt connection for a light but I'd like to use it for the GPS. However, I can't seem...

    Answered E8000 Bluetooth Problem

The only time I’ve been able to successfully connect via Bluetooth is the day the bike arrived. I updated one of the firmwares. The top one whatever that was and LUCKILY i set Trail to medium and Boost to full power. I also removed cadence from the menu but when I went back later to ad...
