Thank you for the info...I will look into Easton. I have/had Renthal on the top of my list, more from my m/c days than anything but until I purchase something the search continues...one question though; with the increase in size to 31.8 or 35mm clamp size, are the AL bars as fatigue reducing as...
Thats the thing, I'm not planning on buying 20.00 chinese knockoffs, which tend to be hard and inflexible...my stumpjumper carbon expert is extremely smooth compared to the alloy version, so quality of carbon is the key...
Thinking to change out my bars soon to carbon. Can't really find exact replacements, but close...
My question is more towards
1) if anyone has done this and if so, do they feel better, as in less vibration?
2) beings they are a bit lighter and more rigid, do they free up some energy on the...
I haven't rode either of them as well, I can't find either one in stock at the shops...but if history is the lesson, they will be hard to come by in the U.S., that being said, i would still lean towards the Brose motor. I am not sold on the Yamaha. The Shimono steps is good, hate the...
This is true as well. I used to change my rear spring on my levo every time i went from XC to trail/DH. The coil I use for XC was 800.00 American alone...
The thing, inho, is the motor and battery.
I understand we all have our own important things, but battery size (small and lite for trails, big and strong for XC style riding, etc.), and none of the motors produce and act the same. Considering derailers/brakes and what-not are cheap compared to...
Possible misunderstanding, I have three e-mtb's that all use the brose motor, and as such, I can swap between the bikes, if I smoke one...or I crack another frame...
And if that is not a concern, the giant ebikes are quite good in their own right...
I only wanted to bring it up so as to be as informed as possible before shelling out the money...
Unless your ebike comes with a lifetime motor warranty, mine goes out of warranty at the end of this year, it is an issue, at least to me as I do all of my own work...as it stands now, I have 3 motors I can swap around in a pinch, or when out of warranty...
If you haven't heard the stories, you won't understand the stories...to be fair, I never investigated beyond what I heard. When I was looking for my first e-mtb, i was trying to find a giant full sus, they were sold out everywhere and then found a Levo on sale and never went back.
The story I...
My Bulls E-stream EVO AM-3 is a Brose motor and is listed at 100 NM...its claimed to be the highest torque that Brose puts out. And it has a 650 watt battery, not as big as the 2019 levo, but close...
Not sure if this has changed, but it was rumered that Giant was modifying their motor system...
Where did you get that from?
I said I travelled the states, so I referenced the states, and its issues...I never mentioned anywhere else, because I have limited knowledge of outside the states. If you need to talk about the world, then we need a lot more coffee and alot more time...
In my travels this summer, over 12-15 states and over 500 miles of trail riding, i found the number one thing that anti-e bike riders talked about was the "speed" that e-bikes brought to the trail...if we are going to convince the land managers to allow e-bikes we need to (not) talk about speed...
Personally i don't understand why there is such a large (and heated) discussion about speed...e-bikes are (in my opinion) more about longevity of the ride and climbing, neither that need speed (a safe speed on the trail is not overcome by batteries)...i am more interested in getting better...
I would go with 1 up...they are heavy duty and pure aluminum...the locking system is super tight and extremely well made...

I ride a turbo levo fsr...it came with tubeless 2.8's. I love the feel, grip and the fact that i can run at 12-14 psi (a tubeless feature)...with the power being sent to the tires, i think the bigger tires are perfect. They are heavier by default, but i prefer the grip over the weight concerns...
