Ok finally got to mount them, here is my initial impression, currently too much snow for a ride report.
Comparing them to my MM super gravity soft 29x2.6's.
New tires shredda gravity ultra soft radial 29x2.5.
Both at 24psi, the shredder is taller because of the knobs, both are the same...
My biggest issue is they just look wrong on a $5,000 bike. It adds another spot for creaking noises as well. My Deity riser bars were only ~$75 and they do exactly what I wanted.
I regularly hit 17-18 mph on my local xc trail loops. I don't ride in boost, but in trail mode so far I've not hit 20mph except on some down hills or on a road transfer. 15.5mph would definitely be annoying and I'd jailbreak my bike the first day I rode it...
I wash my ep801 with a garden hose and it sees plenty of mud. I think the company that works on motors is making some splash shields for the ep8 series that might help you out. FYI they also work on the Shimano motors if they're out of warranty. I think the guy goes by bearing man or something...
This is interesting! My experience in the real world is if I ride faster, I finish the trail in a shorter duration, but end with similar battery level as I do riding the same trail slower. So it seems like I use more watts per hour, but the total watts to move my bike and I along the trail...
Cars and motorcycles are definitely limited depending on what class and series you're racing. Engine size, the amount of cylinders, even silly things like wheel/tire size and throttle area, how many gears, final gear ratio, automatic/manual. There's all kinds of rules, this includes a tech...
I just received a pair of Shredda's that I'll be putting on my bike tomorrow. Currently running 29x2.6 super gravity magic marys in addix soft. The Shredda's are 29x2.5, but I think with the larger side knobs the overall width will be similar. I'll mount one and put it next the the old MM and...
They're probably wanting to go through it and see if they can figure out why it's lost so many components in 2 years of riding. The engineering team will be giving it a full inspection to see what they can do better.
I ride an ep801 with the newest firmware. There's definitely something going on with the ep801 in this test because it should be able to get to 600 watts, but looks like it's limiting for some reason. So probably not setup to max correctly or there was an issue with it. I know it seems to really...
The graph with the power to cadence curve really sticks out that something isn't right with their testing. The Shimano has assistance well above the 110rpm point that it drops off a cliff. It's still interesting info, I'd really like to be there during a test to see how they're doing it. Would...
I'd wait a year or so before recommending a new motor to someone. We have zero ideas of reliability, real world efficiency, or the new bikes they'll be in. I'd say any of the current generation motors are mostly equal in real world scenarios. I'm also not sold on the new motors higher torque and...
Same issue with dirt bike dyno "tests" nowadays. There's phone apps that you can change the timing and fueling at different rpms and engine loads (throttle position on most dirt bikes) so you don't know if they had it turned to max advance or retarded it to minimum advance.
On these e-bikes...
