Something doesn’t sound right - on my DB il coil I’m more or less running it on the recommended base tune for stumpjumpers / Levo - and I have enough rebound adjustment to either dramatically slow the shock down or speed it up way too much.
Making these adjustments doesn’t seem to impact the CS...
To be honest Dom sorted it all out so I’m not sure which hardware came with the shock vs what he had in stock, but he’ll be able to advise you.
The coil fork conversion is incredible - highly recommended! (I also extended the forks to 160mm at the same time so my bike is now 157mm rear and...
Hi mate,
Sure! Speak to Dom at https://www.recoilsuspension.co.uk/ - He was super helpful at sourcing the shock, fitting it and cocking around trying different spring weights, all for a very competitive price (he's also one of only a few Cane Creek certified service centres so he knows his...
Just to update the thread, after removing the TCU and drying it out on a radiator for 3 days it has come back to life and is now functioning properly. I checked it several times during that time and it was still not working despite looking dry. Moral of the story is that a tiny bit of water...
Fair enough! Although if you don't manage to find what you're after a simple bit of heli tape where you intend to position the straps of a regular bag does the job nicely!
I’ve got a SWAT tool in the steerer (version with chain tool and link storage) and then a Dakine “hot lap” pouch strapped around the frame (with some heli tape to protect the pain finish).
It has easily swallowed;
Spare tube
Patch kit
Tyre boot
Mech hanger
Tyre lever
Rolled up piece of duck...
I’m running a 210x55 stroke Cane Creek DB in-line coil and have tried it in both high and low setting with zero clearance issues. I tried it with the spring off and the linkage isn’t even especially close to touching the frame. I’m not sure if it makes a difference but my bike is an XL 2019 Expert.
It looks like it needs a soft rubber gasket or something to do a better job of stopping water getting under it and into the electronics... especially when the electronics don’t have the rubber flap closed!
I’ve got the Pike on my bike set at 160 and I’ve left the bike in “low” - all seems to work fine for me, obviously there is the odd pedal strike but not often enough to make me think about switching to the high setting.
You know they were really not that bad - I think it was one in particular that sprayed a load of water up over the bars / stem and onto the TCU. I’m a bit worried for how the bike will do over “proper” winter riding as I’ve not had it for long. I’m hoping the rubber cover on the bottom of the...
I just removed the TCU and it was a bit wet and the rubber cover was not in position so I suspect that this is the culprit! (I checked the battery LEDs and they're behaving normally). If leaving it to dry out doesn't work I'll reply to your PM - Thanks!
Thanks for the tip - I just tried that but it didn't help as the "error code" (if that is even what it is) disappears before Mission Control pairs with the bike. Therefore MC is showing the system as healthy.
As an aside, I also just noticed that the bike is not automatically powering down now...
Hi everyone,
Just after some advice - I had a slightly weird issue after a wet ride. Now, it wasn't raining on the ride but there was a fair bit of surface water and plenty of puddles. Anyway, halfway through the ride I noticed that "stealth mode" had stopped working. Usually on my bike (2019...
My 2019 Expert had the basic SWAT tool (no chain tool or link storage) but there was an issue with the top cap which made it impossible to open (over tightened during manufacturing). Anyway, the warranty replacement turned up as the one with the chain tool and link storage - I’m guessing...
I have just mildly upgraded the Code brakes on my 2019 Expert and they are now incredible. All I did was change the pads for TrickStuff “Power” on the front and Uberbike E-bike “race compound” on the rear. I also added a 220mm Formula rotor on the front (ordered from Lord Gun along with the...
Just a quick update - I’ve ended up with a 650lb Cane Creek VAULT lightweight steel spring and it is perfect for me at about 95kgs. It is still super plush without wallowing but there is no noticeable harsh bottoming out even over fairly big drops to flat. Just to reiterate I’m running the 55mm...
I’m about 95kgs and get about 40%sag with the 550 - going to try a 650, 674 and 708 spring next week (worth noting that CC springs only go up to 550 - the heavier springs are all Ohlins). I’m actually really surprised how well the bike still rode with such a soft spring for my weight - guess it...
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to add to the discussion - today was my first ride on my 2019 Levo with a coil shock. It has been a very long time since I had a coil shock, (and back then it was a DH bike) but I was blown away by the way it has transformed the bike. The rear suspension now works so...
