motor/battery support is the question. Long term support is enough of a worry/concern with the big, dedicated, multi-brand vendors... its even more so with a one off like this.
Hello fellow non-european! :)
Edmonton Alberta. Wife and I like to get out to the mountains at least two or three times during the season but most of our riding is in the city trails/river valley park system. Even in the mountains she's not a fan of anything too scary so I'm not really...
someone on that spokex_ instagram asked how they got it down that light and their answer was 'nothing its a lightweight model'.... very sus...
(honestly if orbea has even a 20-21kg equipped wild I'd be pretty interested but thats into Rise SL/LT territory so very sus...)
Orbea is so annoying with not posting weights (even 'as configured' weights would be helpful). I think there is a zero percent chance that a 2025 Wild is 43 lbs.
Yea, apparently it is still somewhat loud and clattery... similarish to the CX gen 4. That and I really want more than a 400wh battery. Could throw an extender on but Im not keen on extenders since I like having a water bottle.
I still havent ruled the SX out entirely but the cx gen 5 is a...
Power is actually the least of my factors.... the primary factors are sound/ride profile, range, and out of warranty support network. Its the latter that has me leaning towards bosch and the first point focusing in on the cx gen5...
thnx for your input!
Thank you for your posts. The main appeal of the new bosch system for me is its silence and a belief that its aftermarket, out of warranty support will be easier/better. I want something that feels/rides like an analog bike, most of my ride time is more forest road style, less mountain descents...
Does anyone have any suggestions for Bosch CX equipped bikes that tend to be on the 'lighter' side? Thinking around the 21 kg range (22kg at the outside)? Had had my eye on the AMFlow bikes but according to them, they currently have no plans for a Canadian release and so the new gen Bosch CX...
I had the new Rise SL with the 625 kw battery shortlisted on my list of candidates (H20 or M20 version) but the new Wild ST (short travel) has made things unexpectedly interesting? Wondering on peoples thoughts here. I am absolutely more of a trail rider but I have to say that the new gen...
I cant remember the source, it was one of the EMTB youtube channels but I am 98.9% sure the quoted difference between the Rise alloy and carbon frame was 1.2 kg
Absurd.
I would almost consider buying a backup engine and battery were it not that the backup battery would degrade over time just sitting in storage. Its almost like you have to figure out from the vendor when the given part is going to be marked for end of life and buy it then but how...
frustrating that there is a certainty that the bike is literally going to be rendered inoperable at some point in its future. The question is what is the time scale of that inevitability? Very disappointing that hypothetically that bike be could be forced to the landfill in as potentially...
I am finally moving on from a 2004 specialized comp into the emtb world.
However I wonder if it is realistic to expect an emtb's longevity to last anywhere near as long as an analogue bike? I am fine with the reality of needing to replace an engine or battery, the real question is, how long...
Would have thought we'd be seeing more mtbs using this system by now, but it looks liked there are still limited offerings from vendors I am not familiar with (and dont seem to have much of a north american presence at all)
