just picked up a 2020 Stereo......was going to get another Vitus, but this took my fancy, great build quality, nice design touches, value for money, 625 battery, and looks great (IMO)
oh and rides nice also!
Out there yet?.... got a fancy for a VRS or VRX in December, have not seen any reviews ... anybody tried one or took the plunge?
difficult decision as the Sommet is well proven, but I’m to old for all that travel....
As has been said, CRC can save you a load of cash, why not put the difference aside and keep it as an insurance in case minor warrant pay issues crop up. yes if you have a terninal failure cracked frame etc.... use the warranty, other stuff, sort it yourself or use lbs and take it on the...
The Escarpe looks an interesting bike, (wish they would show the geometry) but jeez what horrific (and dated) colour schemes. It really does put me off.
The only decent colours are (IMO) are the lowest spec bikes, the white Escarpe and the Matt green Sommet.
There marketing guys need a slap !
Is it not because people are trying to hide the fact they are on an e bike? Me I couldn’t give a monkeys, been riding / racing mtbs for 35 yrs, so I think I deserve a little help on the climbs.
I also prefer external, easier to access, lighter ? , and I can swap them between bikes.
Nice one Vitus ?
Appreciate that Gary, I tried a Merida last year and your right about the sizing, it felt short and cockpit was cramped and that was an Large. I can see from that alone the Vitus would be less twitchy / more stable DH sled.
Have you tried 27.5 and 29” mixed wheel setup? In theory (like MX...
Was going to try out a 2019 Merida 190e tomorrow (25% price reduction, makes it about £4k)..... now I’m tempted to wait till these arrive.... got a Sentier at the moment so sticking with the external battery means a spare battery is available if needed.?the Escarpe looks neat with the 27.5 / 29”...
A bit further North, Kielder has got a decent mix, Thrunton woods is quite popular about 30 miles north of Newcastle on the a697.... but that’s not such a good place for beginners .
My son rides in Chopwell woods, seems to enjoy it.
I heard the same about 11 speed needing changing at 50%..... deffo looking to reduce to 10 or even 8 speed next big change ( my road bike is 8 speed cassette and the chain is so much chunkier)
I would put money on this is your issue, I had same on my Sentier, a bit of air and on landing it would switch off. Adjustment of the top location needed.
I know there are many factors to the question, but it would be interesting to understand this and what chain is the best value for money.
Here’s away,... 75% wear @ 450 miles, on a KMC x11. Never abused and always cleaned and lubed, most use is eco and a bit of trail ( shimano 8000) oh and...
