Cheers all, I have checked a decent local powder coaters and its about £145 for the 2 piece frame and rocker. I did have a £50 job a few years ago, this was the one that ended up with a small hole in my frame. Bike is a mondraker, its 3 years old in april, was thinking of getting it done around...
Never loved my bikes colour and its had a few knocks and scrapes, so good reason to get a re spray. Anyone had an e bike done and if so where.. .. Iv had a few manual bikes done in the past, one ended up with a hole in after a harsh shot blasting process ?
But the levo and new marin for example have a great look, large batteries etc. I think e bikes now should be heading towards all the elements. Most people want a nice looking bike, especially when spending a lot of money.
Love the idea.... Can`t wait to see the build, I may well try this too... I had a Carbon hardtail 29er, I bought second hand on e bay ( Name I can`t remember, something like ak 247) but it looked and rode well, all internal cable routing etc.... The only thing that has put me off was a friend of...
I feel this way about my old manual bike... The opposite I guess... I know about 15 people who have swopped to ebikes and love them, most have ridden for years and sold there old, Yetis, Santa cruz etc... But I did see a local rider I slightly know had sold his Evil, test rode a specialized Sl...
I run mud hugger long on front... Had shortys before, long is way better. I also bought another long front for the rear( Sam Hill runs this style ) as it looks very sleek. Unfortunatly, it didn`t work on my bike. My main issue with the standard rear mudgaurd piccy above is the look ; )
But...
Iv ridden bmx for 10 years and mtb for over 25 years and yes you adjust to the feel of a new or different bike within days, in fact sometimes a few good hours. But the point im making is bikes have different feels and this is very important when choosing, as much as motor and componants...
A massive point i think people overlook is geometry..you can have the best motor and componants, but if the bike dont feel right when you ride it, then its a no go... . Iv only ridden the giant for about a minute, but it felt good to me.. Personally and i have 3 friends with the levo, its just...
Tubeless with an insert.... You can smash through all and never get flats... Ok its not impossible, but a group of us havw this set up and its been 100% trouble free for nearlt 2 years..
After a few of us visited the lakes 2 years ago and got a load of flats, even with tubeless..... i tried vitoria and they have been great. No flats last year, with 5 riders hitting knarly rocks over 4 days.... We all run them... One mate fitted cushcore and said it was a ball ache.... Vitoria...
I have the 650b wheel crafty and love it. What i would say is that i dont really think its an xc type feel. Its very long, heavy and a bit of a brute. I would look at the chaser, or maybe a levo if you want a more nimble, agile feel.
I have a mancave, but a couple of years ago ( Pre Ebike ) I had 2 bikes worth about 11k nicked they were chained with motorbike chains and locks. What I would say is get an alarm fitted too. I have a yale ( Battery type you fit your self )alarm fitted in the house and 1 of the sensors is fitted...
