My LBS fitted the 38s (160 with 44 offset) a week ago in direct replacment for 36's with the same travel and offset. I wasnt expecting to even notice much difference as I had spent a few weeks (6 rides) setting those up (with ShockWiz) and they felt good. I set the 38's up with stock settings...
I have the full kit on my 2019 S-works and its great, however, unless you want to climb vertical faces (and the gap between ratios is too wide) I would change the front to an extra 2 or 4 teeth.
As above, if Specialized themselves don’t feel it’s necessary, then why would you want to? I am 105Kg fully kitted. My 2019 S-works came with the non e-bike specific forks and I’ve changed them out for 160 (with 46 offset) non e-bike specific forks after advice from Specialized themselves. I...
To be honest, I thought the same until I spoke with their technical department. Their reasons for not using, what is in effect a lesser performing fork on the basis of extra weight is sound. It may not apply to all makes, which may be much heavier, but I was satisfied with their explanation and...
I don’t think you’ll find that’s true. Specialized have told me on the phone and confirmed in writing; they do not fit the e-bike specific Fox CSU, only change is the damping. Their forks are 36, with 36 internals. They state, they have not had one failure on an e-bike since their original...
I didn’t get mine back either. To make matters worse, one of the fork CSUs was damaged in the crash. As they refused to cover the cost I decided to get the shop to replace it anyway. They ordered the correct E-bike specific part but when it arrived, it turns out that the forks fitted to my bike...
and to add insult to injury (at least financial), when the pedal wasnt there on my next down stroke, I ended up going over the handlebars. In a funny/not funny slow speed crash. The resulting damage to the bike, helmet and smashed Apple watch was way more than the cost of the cranks (Specialized...
Sadly no, Praxis stated no manufacturing fault. Personally, if that is the case, I cannot see how they can be fit for purpose. I have replaced them with alloy and will not put carbon cranks back on. Pretty poor for a $15,000 bike.
