This is what I did to ride backpack less:-
OneUp EDC tool in the steerer tube (has everything I need).
Lezyne pump stored in my lightweight Leatt base layer top (has roadie type pockets at the rear). Etc.
So no need to bolt on ugly pumps etc to the frame for the once in 3 year chance of...
I have the Goretex versions, there are other versions that are not Goretex. I have those too.
I’ve had no issues using them.
I did experience wetness once but it was my fault. If you don’t wear waterproof (proper waterproof) trousers then your leg will get wet and the water will run down...
It does, my comment was geared to the setup once sag was set. E.g. misconception about running LSC fully open to try and get buttery smooth plushness.
Edit - spring rate sets the sag on a coil. That’s what takes the time and effort. Worth it though when you get something that works for you.
Correct, if you run LSC open then the fork will sit further into its stroke which will make it feel firmer. Which then most folk will try adjusting the rebound. Suspension is more plusher if it sits higher in an air shock.
Update
So today was a good day. I finally saw a break in the storms to get out to Llandegla for a couple of hours to dial in the new suspension.
The difference is quite staggering. I’m glad @Rob Rides EMTB pointed out how the Kenevo performs with progression as it is inherently a linear bike...
I haven’t fitted it yet (job for tomorrow). I’m going to set it up pretty progressive with the spacers and puck. So guess it will be quite different to the ultra linear TTX22M.2.
I’ll be writing up my views in my build thread 👍🏼
Update
I love it when new gold arrives! Build quality is insane.
I need to add the mounting hardware and remove the air can so I can setup the spacers for progression. I may go pretty progressive for some aggressive riding. Shimano BB tool required to remove the can.
Good man …. You won’t regret it. Best thing I’ve shredded.
In terms of the Ö coil vs air….. I can’t say yet. The new shock has only just landed. See next post.
But in my opinion what you choose will depend on what you want from the Kenevo.
Stable, fast, grippy, great traction, comfortable...
Not sure - it was something I spied on the FB group and thought it was strange as I would have thought the connectors would have been a standard Brose / Spesh?
After trying most brands of shoes and pedals my favourite combination is:-
- One Up Alu Pedals (nice low profile stack so no pedal strikes and ultra grippy)
- Five Ten Trailcross Goretex for Winter
- Five Ten Trailcross XT (use for summer months) currently £42 reduced from £140 from Evans...
