@BiGJZ74 - could you please specify the exact size of your coil/spring? I remember you have 750 for 280lbs (like me) but what size (or link to shop item)?
Ya, I considered coil but that is linear and that is not good for heavy driver. I ended up with DPX2 air. And I love wider carbon rims as a protection and alloy frame because of my weight - carbon is much more harder with the same weight but too much fragile (hidden damage because not elastic...
I am 280lbs and 6'5", some lbs lost on ebike during winter. I have Trek Rail size XL. I have changed stem to 7cm and handlebars to 3, rims to carbon 40, fork to RS Zeb 170, shock to Fox DPX2 160, seatpost to harder one with 150 cm movement, wider saddle by Specialized Body Geometry. I also...
Definitely, Kiox is very useful, especially with paired mobile.
I have both mounting bases for Kiox, but best for me is handlebar mounting. The frame mount is in very bad position for reading during the ride. You have to bend head more, it is far from eyes and you cannot see in front of you.
I made my decision between the new Nyon and Kiox, and Kiox won for me - I like to ride action trails and dont want to have big box on stem or frame. If I would have a bike for trekking, the Nyon is the winner for that purpose.
And the decision about position - I bought the original Trek mount...
Nice. I use this position for kiox also. It is way better then on frame tube for seeing.
I have Rail 7. I bought the tube kiox mount by Trek also, but changed my mind and take the original Bosch mount.
I did as you write on the upper mount (using RockShox Rear Shock Bushing Tool - it is universal). And for lower there I bought the 40mm component by Fox. The lower part on Trek rear shock is standard but upper isnt.
I would not do that. Dont trim down or cut anything on shock mount. Keep away from using the used eyelet bushings.
I bought new eyelet teflon bushings and RockShox 1/2x1/2-Inch Rear Shock Bushing Tool for pressing them to eyelet. You should be careful because in shock mount there are strong...
@PanchoBuc, what other spacers (size) or something else did you buy for installing this Fox Float DPX2 2020 on Trek Rail7 ?
Currently I have the RockShox Deluxe Select+ installed on my Rail7.
